AEM intake ProblemMy95Accord 11-17-2003, 11:35 AM I was installing a short ram AEM intake on my 95 Accord Coupe, and I ran into a problem I noticed that there was a plastic tube that was connected to the bottom of the stock intake going into something that looked like a smaller looking filter. Would it be safe to leave that open or is there some kind of cap that goes on it. Please help me red_blur01 11-17-2003, 01:03 PM do u have a digital cam so you can post a pic? Highlyaspir8ed 11-17-2003, 01:11 PM where did you buy the intake kit from??? sounds like you have the wrong intake... I used to work for AEM all thier intakes, fuel rails, fuel pressure regs, cam gears, under drive pulleys and so on are made to fit the specific vehicle and engine perfectly... if they say its going to fit a 99 civic SI its going to fit a 99 civic SI. however as we all know with model changes come production changes so if you have a part that is built for a different year or different engine... it's going to be different...:cool: My95Accord 11-17-2003, 01:32 PM I'll get a pic posted tonight HONDAPITSTOPCOM 11-19-2003, 03:43 PM I was installing a short ram AEM intake on my 95 Accord Coupe, and I ran into a problem I noticed that there was a plastic tube that was connected to the bottom of the stock intake going into something that looked like a smaller looking filter. It should be similar to your 95 AEM short ram install. You basically take everything off that was connected to your stock air intake and replace it with your AEM short ram intake. Also, if you get stuck call AEM they will help you over the phone free of charge in most cases. 90 AEM CAI Install (http://www.hondapitstop.com/accord/technotes1/engine/cai_aem/cai_aem.html) Good luck :) Bruce tenguzero 11-19-2003, 10:58 PM Yea, sounds like he's referring to that little sensor "thing" located under the stock intake that everyone is always buggin' about. Ditch it. It has to go ayways to get the intake to fit in. http://www.hondalive.net/lordaccord/intake/index.html I call that my "definitive link" when it comes to intake installation (on the 5th gen at least) I followed this exactly with my SR, and have had no problems (going on a year now.) I've had people say they couldn't understand the pictures, but I don't think it can get much more cut and dry than this. Good luck :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
