hey

Just got a 92 honda accord 4dr, looks like its in pretty good shape. I've also have my 91 honda civic so I've never looked at accords. The accord has a cracked block in it, should I get a new block/rebuild the motor or is there a good swap for 92 accords? Which car is better for performance. I really dont have the money for jdm so just usdm ideas will help. With a swap will this manual speed tranny match up? Any ideas will help, like I said - Never worked on accords and I am having trouble finding info online. Thanks

Take alot of loot swaping a racing motor......I would get that block fixed, and keep the motor

If putting a lot of loot in one of these is worth it I plan on spending it, but I'm wondering if a usdm motor is really that much slower than a jdm? like the f20 / f22 vs. a jdm h22, I know the price is much more.

USDM H22 - 190hp
JDM H22 - 200hp

Now, the F22 in the accord stock is 125, 130, or 140 (depending on trim and year), EX 92-93 for the most part are the 140. EX other years - 130, and DX,LX always 125.

The f20 depends on which one we're talking about but I don't believe the f20 was ever used here in the states, so it'd either be like the f20a or the f20(b?). One is 200hp the other is only 150hp as I recall right now.

Worth the money: JDM H22.....it's cheaper than a USDM believe it or not in almost all cases. Instant 60-75hp gain over the accord motor. Direct swap, only have to add a few wires to the wiring harness and that's about it. There is a link in my sig to a product you may/may not be interested in.

your stock tranny will not bolt up to the h22 ive tried with mine when we were swaping the motor. a cheap bolt in no one really thinks of is the f22b1-2 Vtec motors 145-155 hp and there cheap the last two ive bought were $200 each. no tranny but yours will bolt up :iceslolan

As far as I know, the stock tranny from a 90-93 will bolt directly up to an h22a from 92-96. I don't know why you couldn't get yours to bolt up. In fact I've seen a couple different cars with accord motors and jdm h22a's including mine.
