hey guys, just wanted to know why my car is doing something weird. i gotta 2001 honda accord and when im going around 75 and giving gas steadily, i hear this humming sound...its like either from my front tires or the engine...i have no clue what it is... and also when i break somewhat hard, i hear my brakes not sqeek, but sounds like its metal to metal, but i had my brakes checked and i still had 45% brake pad left. any one have any ideas whats going on??? and what are good brake pads to get as a replacement for hard braking??

There's probably a plug unpluged, check out the motor and see if you see one unpluged......or you're barrin might be gone for you're tire's......But i think that will make a sound going slow.........But check out the plugs

bearings can be a nasty sound like that at higher speeds.

I have a 2001 accord (43K miles) with a front end noise (humming, thrumming) that is best heard coming off the freeway. It is unaffected by cornering, braking, gear in or out or tire rotation. Pads are ok, engine performance is unchanged and steering stability is unchanged. Wheel bearing failure at this mileage is very unusual. The car has not been abused in any way. This leaves the ABS sensor system including the tone ring. Could this be the cause of our mutual noise? If I can discover the cause, I will post. The Honda dealer is about to get a visit.

Maybe tire rod or cv joints?

The 2001 Accord was repaired 12/22. It was the left front wheel bearing that was failing (at 44K miles).
