I own a 2001 Prizm and I'm planning on customizing it because no one customizes them. This is my second Prizm and I have no jeers just cheers about them. Also it will be "one of a kind" when it's done.':D:

I guess you want to be more original and diferenciate from the ones that drives exhausted Civics and Corollas, that the only reason to get a Prizm and mod it.

my cousin is in the midst of doing up a 96 Prism.... oh and one flaw with your plan...... they're the same thing as a Corrola.......

to tell you how close they are... the turn signals are even the same, the engin, tranny, seats, speakers, rims............... the only difference is the tail-lights, the Corrolla is angled and the Prism is rounded on his model......

but with hydrolics, 17 inch rims, tint, and interior plastic painted to match the exterior...... it is one SWEET ride........

I used to have a 96 Prizm, but it seems that the newer models are even more identical to the Corolla than the 96 models.
I found a great body kit at "andysautosports.com". So if anybody is looking for a body kit just go there. The only thing is that it's $1200 and I found a place in McAllen TX that has it for $900 installed.
Hey Buff let me know if your cousin has any other mods. My e-mail address is "woolee-1@worldnet.at.net". I should be getting a set of white 17 inch wheels later this month, and I have seen the painted interior before, so I'm thinking of doing that. I just had the windows tinted at "Ace's Audio Alarm & Tint" in Palmview TX. They did a great job. Their audio systems are also great,(their vehicles and store both made the world finals for audio), so they will probably install my sound system when I'm ready for it.
The other plans I have are, clear or euro taillights and clear corner lenses for the front. I haven't been able to find the euro taillights or the clear corners, so if anybody knows where I can find them, or if you have any styling suggestions, let me know.

It's called reliability. The Prism is a California built Corolla, rebadged as a geo/chevy.

I dont know why you guys are ranking on the prizm. I just bought mine in May of this year...I had a 2001 civic ex 5 speed coupe before this and I had nothing but problems with it. I wanted to get something cheaper, and an automatic because I was getting tired of stick shift. I found my car at a dealer near my house....drove it, and liked it. I have had no problems with it so far, it runs so smooth and it rides very tight....The engine....A toyota DOHC 1.8 is very quiet. I got an LSI model....which had 19k miles on it, full power, and 14 inch rims...Which is fine for what I am doing with it.

The entire car is made by toyota except for the hood, truck, taillights, headlights, and radio

my coolant fans arent coming on, could a circuit need to be reset or maybe a fusible link melted? I didn't realize that a 10a fuse for the ecu-ig was left out until the car started overheating.

carollas and prizms are not as close to the same as everyone thinks they are. they corner lights are different the side skirts are different back bumper and front bumper the headlights are different the hood and the trunk. my girl has a prizm and her corolla body kit didnt fit because of all this stuff no matter how hard i tried telling her it wouldnt work she spent the money anyways. just to let every one know dont order a corolla kit for your prizm its a waste of time and money.

I own a 1995 Geo Prism, 128,000 miles, and the only major thing to be replaced was the clutch at 125,000, not becouse it broke, but becouse I was driving it 2000 miles a week, and did'nt want it to break while I was driving. The motors got good power, I have no problem going up steep hills or pulling out in traffic.

They are basically Corrolla's, cept for the electrical system, which is all GM (alternator, radio.............) and on mine the paint, which is GM Purple (same used on Camaro's and Beretta's).

It's basic reliable transportation. Had to put my wife's 1988 prizm\Nova , purchased in 1988,to sleep after 156,000 miles, which is more than I can say for my Union Made 1998 money-pit Malibu..even with the extended warranty. BTW, bought her another 1999 Prizm to replace the 88 Nova

Because, any Chevrolet that lasts over 10 years IS a classic. I've owned both [2 of each]...at age 42, guess which 2 had engines replaced, under 100,000 miles in each case? I don't mean to sound grumpy, or Anti-American, I'm not....far from it. It just fries me that GM knows about the problems, and chooses to make things last long enough for the warranties to expire.

the warranty isn't the problem it's all the added bulls**t thats going on the vehicles that is not really needed. vehicles run just fine without all the sensors and 2000 miles of added wires 500 miles of added hoses and lord only knows how many micro chips diodes resistor transistors capacitors they put in the computers. so as far as buying a new nope i'll drive my prism until i can't buy parts for it anymore
