What engine performance parts are avaible for a 98 toyota camry with a 4 cylinder. The only things I have founds is OBX muffler and a Weapons R intake. Is there anything else out there?

There really isn't much for an Inline Four in the Camry...that's mainly why most of us either start out with a six, swap motors, or slap in a couple of nitrous bottles.

its an automatic. I looking for anything that will give it some more power and better handling. body kit??

I don't see how a body kit would affect performance any. Aerodynamics, of course, although it still wouldn't really have much to do with anything, maybe a little on your handling.

there r injen intakes, turbo chargers, headers (saw it b4, tryin to find it), tom's computer (r there any?? dunno)... as well............... if there aint much of power improvement, y not think about helpin ur car to lose weight???? decrease the power-weight ratio, <--faster :evillol:

there r cf hoods, use coilovers ( i think it will help lose some weight), take the ABS away, take the spare tire out, the jack, n the A/C is u want.........they will lose about 100~200lbs........change the bushings, n sway bars, then tower bars.........i think ur car is pretty much set to go........ n if u know the air-to-fuel ratio, u can SAFC-II to find the best af ratio for ur car.........

also, i heard that u can put the supra injectors for the 5s-fe, is this true??? any1 can confirm it??

I've heard about the Supra injectors, but I'm not too sure whether or not you can actually put those in there or not. If anyone can confirm this factor for us, it would be an interesting weekend project.

Lets talk about this Turbo, that you have.

Yes, I would like to hear a little more about the turbo that you can get for the Camry.

How about this...sell it and buy something that has performance potential. Sure...you can make a Camry fast, hell....I've even seen a 13 second Geo Metro. But you'll waste your time trying to make it fast. Buy an Eclipse GS-T or something.

I always thought that the whole point in trying to make a car fast was the time spent on doing it. This is what makes it mean so much. That's why people always have "project cars" so they can have something to occupy their time with. Unlike some of these cars like Eclipses and stuff, where the parts are pretty much right there for you to grab and slap on in about five seconds, with the Camry, you have to think, it takes time, and that's what most of us think makes it all worthwhile. Besides, some of us actually enjoy a challenge, and want to be a little different, instead of like everyone else, always wanting to take the quick way out of things, and have the same car, just like everyone else.

I am with you there bud. I see too many Eclipses, and Civics, and Celicas, and stuff. I once saw a drag race in New Hampshire (street cars) where the guy pulls up in a 1995 Dodge Spirit, and blew the doors off a 1996 Firebird. That's were I learned the term "sleeper". Hell its not about me wanting the car to be Grand Prix Fast, its about making it custom and different. I am sure we can all appreciate that. Besides. I own the damn thing, why go get a payment?

yotatechie04

Yeah really, it's all about the customs here, we do it because we want something different, and why in the hell would any of us want to throw away what we've already paid for in full, and own just so we can work our asses off just to keep another one that everyone else has?!?!?! It's INSANE

ok this is a old thread but*thats freakin true man* making a family car into a sleeper and doing it yourself.....it kicks butt over just buying some crappy car everyone else has...

Yes, I agree. It's hardcore bad-ass if you take a car that not many have pimped, pimp it, and make yourself stand out against the crowd of pimped Hondas and stuff.

I just realized this, but I think I've just over-used the term "pimp".

ya.. lancer evos are quick standard but... well quick enough to keep you happy for a few months..i see alot of them around anyhow..

AJ236

Yeah, I don't know if you can call an EVO a sleeper, or slow looking. If you do a little reading you can see that an EVO is stocked at 270hp!With an aftercooler you can see throught the grill. Hmmm. Survey Says...XXXX not a sleeper. Not the EVO. A standard Lancer, OK. But sure not the EVO.

Performance:

Shiftgateperformance.com (Turbo Kits)
Rippmods.com (Supercharger)

If you plan on running all motor, get Bosal Brospeed headers or Rippmod headers, Custom CAI, and a exhaust system. Port and Polish, aggressive cams, etc.

Suspension:

TRD swap bar (adjustable)
Call Kinderhook Toyota and ask for Eddie Habeck
Get Tein Coil Overs for 4th gen solaras they will fit onto your chassis

Hope this helps.
