Keyless Remotes No Longer Work!

I'm so glad I found this forum! I have a '99 Montana Ext. and I love it! Yesterday, though, I used the remote to unlock my door and it worked fine. I drove to the grocery store and when I came out, it no longer worked. Because I've had the van for over three years, I assumed it was the remote battery and had it replaced, but discovered the other remote no longer worked, either.

Do I just need to reprogram them? I saw all the posts on how to program a new remote, so I can do that if I need to. I just need to know if anyone thinks that will work. Thank you for your help!!!

By the way, I have only the lock/unlock remote. I don't have a theft deterrent system or remote sliding door.

I think they sell a lot of remote batteries that way! Same things has happened to me, and I'll bet to *many* others out there. Anyway, long story short, re-program the remotes and you'll be fine. Allow a bit of time, it takes a while. (See post below for instructions)

Every GM dealer has a tool to check remote operation! It takes 2 seconds to test and most dealers will do it for free!

You could also just try to synchronize them by getting near the vehicle and pressing the lock and unlock for approx. seven seconds to which your horn will sound confirming a success. I would try this before I went to a lot of trouble.
