Are 95 Ford Econoline automatic transmissions (overdrive and non overdrive types) interchangeable on a V6 Econoline 150 originally equipped with a non overdrive automatic. ie: is the installed computer and wiring harness compatible for either transmission for proper operation. Any help would be appreciated

Stick with the non OD tranny. Find yourself a Ford C6 tranny. The OD trannys are crap

There are NO "V-6" Econolines. ALL 6 cyinder Econolines are the "300 CID I-6", and starting in the late 1980s they were equipped with the E4OD (HD) Automatic OD trans. Prior to that they got the C-6 (best damned trans ever made). A 1995 would have the E4OD, and they are not really "interchangeable" with the V-8 transmissions. Same trans design, different guts and case (bolt patterns).

Plus overdrive trans cost an extra $800 when they need to be replaced.
I can get regular trans for about $900-1000. It always cost me about 1600-1700 to fix.
