Someone editing my work..Ran 11-11-2003, 07:45 AM Hi, i posted this on this forum becasue i looked in the AF gallery and found that eslipseaudi has edited the banner i made without my premission. here is the pic: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=783&password=&sort=1&cat=998&page=1 the fact that its called: "632626drawinofthemonthcopy1" sais he edited it. What im saying is that you cant edit my works without premission. Even if i made it for this forum's use, I never said anyone can just go ahead and edit it. i hop it wont happen again. -Rans Designz mentel 11-11-2003, 12:59 PM Copying is the finest form of flattery. Alex5390 11-11-2003, 07:06 PM ran, what was the original pic that you made? and chill out, as mentel said... if someone copies you its because they like ur idea... go copyright all your stuff if you don't want people to copy it. Ran 11-12-2003, 11:24 AM acutally i did copy-right my stuff. so they have no right to copy it. Slipknot 11-12-2003, 03:26 PM RAN i dont see anything wrong with it. are you talkin about the "Class A" in the lower right corner? mentel 11-12-2003, 05:58 PM Copying is the finest form of flattery. and ran, don't take offence to this, but that banner is nothing to be really proud of. Uhh, actually, I do n't know why anybody would steal it. Slipknot 11-12-2003, 06:34 PM RAN i edited it, not eslipseaudi!! I did that when you gave it to me because it didnt have the class's on it(A&B)That was what, like 3 months ago? Why are you fightin about it now? It's not hurting anything and no ones saying they made it! your acting like a little kid  or a whinny little ***** :icon16: Ran 11-13-2003, 10:34 AM and ran, don't take offence to this, but that banner is nothing to be really proud of. Uhh, actually, I do n't know why anybody would steal it. Um, why shouldnt i take offence to this? no-one has a right to edit my work, and i wont let them. Your a mod, and that doesnt give u any proof of saying its not nice, u should say its not nice in your opinion. I know its not the nicest i can do, but i did it like 6 month ago, and i was less better than i am now. Next time anyone wants to edit my work, they will have to get premision from me first. -Ran MALIX 11-14-2003, 02:44 PM Ran, how do you copyright? And how much does it cost? Please, I need this information... But you shouldn't sweat about this thing. Who ever modified it, didn't take any credit for themselves, and did only to correct a mistake, not personally attack you. Let it go. MALIX P.S. Please reply to my questions... mentel 11-14-2003, 07:03 PM it costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars to copyright and register trademarks. the only thing ran can do is put a copyright C symbol on the work, but even then whats going to happen? nothing.......thats the thing with the internet. all you can do is let it slide instead ofmaking a big deal, because making a big deal will get you nowhere. Deakins 11-15-2003, 08:11 AM Ran: Legally, if you post something on automotiveforums.com, whether it's text or graphics, it then belongs to Igor. Ran 11-15-2003, 01:46 PM really? if so, than i dont think i should do igor a favor if posting here means he gets the credit for everything i do. Ran 11-15-2003, 01:47 PM it costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars to copyright and register trademarks. the only thing ran can do is put a copyright C symbol on the work, but even then whats going to happen? nothing.......thats the thing with the internet. all you can do is let it slide instead ofmaking a big deal, because making a big deal will get you nowhere. U dont belive i copy-righted my work? I guess ur just an idiota if u dont belive me. eslipseaudi 11-16-2003, 03:56 PM Listen man, I did not edit your work. I didn't even know it was yours. I got it from the drawing of the month compatiotion. I came in first and SLIPKNOT gave it to me to put in my signature. Thats all it was so don't blame it on me, I never steal peoples work, edit it and take credit for it, thats freakin' stupid. So don't blame me for shit I didn't do. NortherntoucH 11-16-2003, 05:27 PM Ran, how rich are you if you can afford to copyright every single piece of work you put out there?? And, my dad copyrighted something he did, it took him 2 years to get the copyright... It's true that he shouldn't have edited your shit, but shit, your making a big deal out of next to nothing. MALIX 11-18-2003, 03:41 PM it costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars to copyright and register trademarks. See, that's what I thought. When Ran mentioned that he copyrighted all his work -- I thought that there must be a cheaper way... so I asked. Ran, I dont believe that you copyrighted that stuff, I'm sorry. If you really did, you wouldn't be b...ing here, but instead were in the process of a law suit. If anyone recycled my work like that -- I'd be honored, not pissed. Take care, mate. MALIX gnasha 11-19-2003, 10:26 AM     Ran you crack me up you do. Everytime I read some thread where you were in, I always lmao. Please never leave this forum you're my weekly entertaining pause. Regarding him modifying your stuff, I agree it would be only polite to ask first but has he pointed it out, he didn't know it was yours as somebody else give it to him... and it's not like he's making profit from it. Ran 11-19-2003, 11:14 AM Im glad i make u laugh, but there are people that think its funny, and its not, i have my rights, and i aint going to sue for that little edit, but im just warning that next time i will do it if i have to. mentel 11-20-2003, 01:35 AM Ran is a little kid, little kids tend to act like little kids. Let the poor guy have his cake and eat it too. mentel 11-20-2003, 01:37 AM Im glad i make u laugh, but there are people that think its funny, and its not, i have my rights, and i aint going to sue for that little edit, but im just warning that next time i will do it if i have to. A word of advice; No lawyer or law representative would even look at that without laughing and pointing fingers. You'd have to pay them 800 bucks an hour. I would really love to see what would happen though, if you tried to 'sue' someone for 'stealing' your 'work'. Sorry dude. But you need to chillax a bit. Ran 11-20-2003, 04:12 AM Mentel, other than a big mouth that can say anything he wants, u dont say allot of nice things. Maybe u sude go arange the chopping comp instead of saying im a little kid because im not. And one more thing, If you dont have copy-rights, does that mean anyone can just go ahead and edit your chops? I dont think u would of liked it if it was like that, and im sure u wouldnt just let it pass.. gnasha 11-20-2003, 04:50 AM And one more thing, If you dont have copy-rights, does that mean anyone can just go ahead and edit your chops? Yes, and even if it's copyrighted, there is still some extends were you can modified it, look at how many times the coca cola logo has been used. Ran 11-20-2003, 05:38 AM Yea, well i think coca cola is rich enough, so thats why they probebly dont sue the editors. MALIX 11-20-2003, 07:28 PM I don't think you can sue, unless the other party made money off your work without your permission, and (not or, I think) has made your company loose money in revenue. I agree with gnasha, though. Ran please keep posting, the way you react to some replies is politically-correct-kinda funny. I'm going to go see your other posts, Ran, I have a feeling this experience will entertain me for a short while. MALIX mentel 11-20-2003, 11:39 PM Mentel, other than a big mouth that can say anything he wants, u dont say allot of nice things. And one more thing, If you dont have copy-rights, does that mean anyone can just go ahead and edit your chops? I dont think u would of liked it if it was like that, and im sure u wouldnt just let it pass.. I can and do say nice things, but when I see people whining over petty things like you are here, I got to put my 2 cents in. And no, I cannot say whatever I want, just because I'm a moderator doesnt mean anything. I still have to follow the EXACT SAME RULES as you do, or else I myself will lose the title, and I will be banned/deleted. I'm sad to see you think of me like this, but I'm not abusing any powers - are you banned yet ?? If I was abusing my powers I would have banned you by now for being annoying :) Ran 11-22-2003, 03:25 AM Well, if you would of done that, another mod or igor would of banned u and got me back in the forums.. so i sudjest that u not bann me if its about being annoying ;) MALIX 11-22-2003, 03:26 AM Well, if you would of done that, another mod or igor would of banned u and got me back in the forums.. so i sudjest that u not bann me if its about being annoying ;) That's exactly what mentel said.... Ran 11-22-2003, 05:07 AM ahhhhhhhhhhhhh AirAllen01 11-22-2003, 05:33 AM Hey what's up? Haven't posted in a long time. Ran, you are correct in saying that nobody has the right to copy your work without your permission, but you've gone about this all the wrong way. If there was a problem, then you should first go to the person who edited your work and send them a p.m. Then if it continues, you should go to Igor next and let him take care of the problem. Second, a copyright, patent, or anything of the sort is only good if you are able to back it up in court. If not, then the copyright is no good. Also, all he did was edit your work. He did not take your work, exactly as it is and say it was his. Therefore, he did not not break any laws, nor did he plagurize your work. Great works, like the Mona Lisa, Statue of Liberty, Stary Night, and many other works have been "edited" many times without laws being broken and without permission from anyone. This has all been blown out of proportion over a small banner made specifically for this website. No offense to you or anyone else here. Have a great day! Ran 11-24-2003, 07:43 AM Thanks, i will :) badassgremlin 11-24-2003, 09:23 AM U dont belive i copy-righted my work?
