Hi,
Does anyone know how to program the 2003 chevy venture remote. I tried the 2002 venture procedure and it didn't work. It's the remote with just the 2 buttons "Lock" & "Unlock".

Transmitter Programming

Important
All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock transmitter (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse block. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views in Wiring Systems.
Close all of the doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Turn the ignition to ACC. The body control module (BCM) will perform the following in order to identify the type of BCM installed in the vehicle:
Flash the seat belt indicator 2, 3, or 4 times.
Chime 2, 3, or 4 times.
Turn the ignition to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second. The BCM may begin to chime and flash diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). If the BCM has stored any DTCs, refer to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System.
Open and then close any vehicle door. The BCM will chime in order to confirm that the programming mode has been entered.
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for approximately 14 seconds.

Important
After approximately 3-5 seconds the BCM will chime once to confirm that the programming has been completed for that transmitter.

Repeat the previous step in order to program each additional transmitter.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the BCM PRGRM fuse into the fuse block.
Operate the functions of each transmitter in order to verify correct system operation.

John,

Just tried this method on my 2003 Silhouette, kinda worked, here is how I did it.

1) Remove key
2) Pull the BCM PRGRM fuse.
3) Close all doors
4) Insert Key
5) Turn Key to Accessory
6) Seat belt light flashed/chimed 4 times
7) Turn key off then back to Accessory within 1 sec
8) Opened and Closed door (van chimed on open and again on close)
9) Never got another chime
10) Pressed lock & Unlock simultaneously on remote #1 until chime (maybe 5 seconds)
11) Pressed lock & Unlock simultaneously on remote #2 until chime (maybe 5 seconds)
12) Removed key.
13) Replaced fuse
14) Tried remotes
15) Grinned from ear to ear because they worked.

Thanks John,

Thanks for the tip. Worked first time around!

BUT! when I entered BCM Program mode, the chime was indicating one beep, then three beeps. It did this three times and then stopped. Where can I find error codes? I can't find it in my Haynes manual, nor in my users manual. Can you tell me where to find these trouble codes?
Thanks

I had trouble reprogramming key fobs for my 2003 Venture with LS trim. It has electric door locks. Here is what worked for me...

· Remove key
· Remove BCM fuse from fusebox
· Close all doors
· Insert key
· While pressing electric DOOR LOCK button, turn key to ACC (do not let go of lock button)
· Hear 1 to 4 chimes (mine has 4; indicates BCM programming mode)
· Within 1 second (while continuing to press DOOR LOCK), turn key to OFF and then ACC
· Release electric DOOR LOCK (hear 1 short chime)

· Press & hold Lock & Unlock on key fob together
· After about 5 seconds, hear short chime (indicates successful key fob programming)
· Repeat last steps for up to 4 remotes

· Turn key to OFF
· Replace BCM fuse

Good luck!

I did everything you mentioned above any everything works great. I did have some chimes where you said I would have DTC's. It was two short tones a pause then another tone. Where can I find out information about what that means. I'm having some problems with my locks here and there and I'm trying to find the solution. Thanks!
