Bentley Azure Vs. Mercedes Benz S600BRABUS 04-10-2001, 04:11 PM Two powerful cars. Azure Vs. S600 V8 Vs. V12. 400 horses Vs. 362 horses. 0-60 in 6.3s Vs. 0-60 in 5.8s Top speed 150mph Vs. Top speed 155mph $300K Vs. $114K Prestige Vs. Prestige. Who wins this battle??? carmaster 04-10-2001, 09:04 PM I'd take the Azure over the S600 in a second! Big Pimp'n baby:coolguy: Porsche 04-11-2001, 09:43 AM Actually the S600 is 123K but that's not important. The azure is better in several aspects like quality and and as a status symbol. The S600 is also a sedan, maybe putting it up against the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph would be a fair comprison like they did in C/d mag or was that for the S8? Oh well Bentley is cooler. Chris 04-11-2001, 10:23 AM The Bently!! You didn't mention the torque, and the bentley has more than 600 lb-ft(!) I would also get a Mulliner, with 420 hp and 650 ln-ft (more than any other production engine!) It is so much cooler, nicer, and the 420 hp is just as fast, but has better acceleration when moving (thx to the torque) and it handles REALLY well:cool: enzo@af 04-11-2001, 10:44 AM Tough call, but I'll say Bentley. Porsche 04-11-2001, 01:18 PM Just wait until the Dodge Powerwagon is put into production, it makes 730Lbs/torque from and inline six! Bugatti's new w18 also makes 900 someodd pound feet of torque. I know though that Bentley do have high torque engines, it because they weigh like 3 tons. Chris 04-11-2001, 04:20 PM True, but I don't think we will see the power wagon or that torque I6 (it ran on 'designer diesel', not currently at the pumps) The Bugatti will cost a million bucks, but will be the best car in the world:) , no understatement. Like I said, the Bently engineers are miracle workers, which is what makes them so desirable:cool: gang$tarr 04-13-2001, 01:47 AM I think this is a terrible comparison, you can't compare a mercedes to a freakin Bentley or Rolls-Royce compare it to a BMW like...... 750iL Vs. S600 That my friend is a GOOD comparo Heep 04-13-2001, 09:09 AM I like a good 650 lb-ft convertible. Shouldn't this be Arnage vs. S600? I'd still pick the Bentley, but those Benzes are some nice. Porsche 04-13-2001, 11:07 AM You say those Bentley engineers are so desired? I agree with completely, but dosen't Rolls and Bentley use BMW engines? I know they didn't but some new contract is coming up and in 2003 I think BMW will stop making engines for both and someone will lose the rights to one of. Sorry for being so abstract I didn't thoroughly here about the deal. BRABUS 04-13-2001, 03:15 PM Originally posted by gang$tarr I think this is a terrible comparison, you can't compare a mercedes to a freakin Bentley or Rolls-Royce compare it to a BMW like...... 750iL Vs. S600 That my friend is a GOOD comparo I know what I'm doing here. The point was to see how a car that costs less could compare to a car that cost more. You have to admit, the S600 does a good job of that in the top speed category and 0-60 as well. As for comparing the S600 to the 750iL, the Bimmer just can't keep up. :D Heep 04-13-2001, 04:07 PM The Arnage originally used a BMW engine, and it still does in the Arnage Green Label. People cried out for the old Bentley engine, so they put it back in and called it the Arnage Red Label. The Red Label is much more popular. gang$tarr 04-13-2001, 05:45 PM okay, here's another reason this comparo is bad...... you compared a Luxury Sedan to a Luxury Convertible..... why didn't you make it Azure Vs. CL or SL convertible.... or...... Bentley Continental Vs. S600 BRABUS 04-13-2001, 05:51 PM Originally posted by gang$tarr okay, here's another reason this comparo is bad...... you compared a Luxury Sedan to a Luxury Convertible..... why didn't you make it Azure Vs. The CL would have been better although the CL600 and S600 share the same V12 engine. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
