I have a ? about a '67 Pontaic Lemans. I need to know if the number on the block will be the same as the VIN number? Trying to find out if my car has the original engine.

Check out www.classicalpontiac.com. Someone there should know for sure. You should have a machined area on the front passenger side of the block. There will be a two letter code and a six or seven digit number stamped there. There is another machined area below this next to the timing cover that will have a partial VIN of the car the engine came from. See if it matches your VIN. You will probably have to use a wire brush to clean the area off if as the letters are pretty small.
