Speedometer stopped workingT!mmy 11-08-2003, 11:01 AM Ok guys get ready for this...took my new 98 civic to a shop to just tune everything up (didn't have the time right now to do it muself) when I took it the speedometer was working but now...it's not. He is leaving for vacation so I told him I would just come pick it up and take it back when he returns. What could be the problem? T!mmy 11-10-2003, 09:53 AM nothing? knorwj 11-10-2003, 10:45 AM happened to mine after i put my clutch and flywheel in. all that happened was i must have pulled on the speed sensor cable and popped it out of the back of the speedometer. i had to pull the dash apart and plug it back in. T!mmy 11-10-2003, 10:54 AM I haven't looked yet but you cant jsut reach up in there and plug it back in? OR How hard is it to take the dash apart? i_a_n112784 11-10-2003, 11:51 AM It could be a loose cable/wire on the speed sensor on the trans. T!mmy 11-10-2003, 02:19 PM Yea... T!mmy 11-10-2003, 02:20 PM well the mechanic checked the speed sensor so now it jsut has to be the back of speedo or the sensor has gone out flash11 11-27-2003, 10:40 PM never had a problem with too much dude xsimpleaznx 11-28-2003, 02:33 AM check the fuse box under the dash for 'back up' fuse, that was what happened to mine vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
