Steering problems

I bought a 2000 HSE 4.6 a few months ago. It is still under factory warranty.

My problem is with unstable steering. When I'm going down an uneven road--especially with ruts that run parallel to the road--I have to grip the wheel to keep the car from pulling right or left. Actually, it does pull and I have to constantly correct one way or the other.

I took the car to the dealer and they changed bushings and rods. They also replaced the front anti-sway bar and the steering damper. They said that was it. However, the only thing these changes did was it eliminated a small vibration on the steering wheel whenever I went over bumpy roads. The pulling left and right did not go away.

Does anyone have any idea if there is something else I should check? My factory warranty will expiere in Dec. of 2004 so I need to try and get this fixed asap.

A friend told me that all time 4X4 will behave this way on uneven roads but I don't buy this. I owned a 99 Jeep Cherokee with Quadra Drive and it never did this.

I have the same problem with my 1997...the steering is at times out of control...my tires are actually being shredded from the side to side movement. Have you come up with and answer yet?
