subaru 2001 wrx sti ?

whats the deal, people are saying they didnt make a 2001 sti ?

and here is a muscle machines 2001 subaru wrx with sti emblems on the car and on the back were they are supposed to be ? whats the deal

I think that's supposed to be justa regular WRX with STi parts and emblems. STi makes parts too, not just cars.

But yeah there was an 01 STi. In America, 2001 was the ol body style. In the rest of the world, 2001 was the release of the new body style that we got for '02 in america. There has been a WRX STi since 1994, it just wasn't released in america till 2004.

01 STi had 280 hp

so i guess what a bigger turbo and pipe and some other stuff, itll have more hp and could outrun the new sti

They've been making the STi in Japan for years. 03 is the first year it has been offered this side of the pond.
STi doesn't make the cars, they build the components for the WRX.
Also, the North American version of the STi is the only STi available with the 2.5L engine. The Japanese version is still using the 2.0L engine which is basically the WRX engine with a beefed up block and variable valve timing.
