I bought a timing chip off ebay, said it would increase horsepower 7 to 10. Does anyone know if these things work, there are a ton of them on e-bay, and are they safe to use, I have not got it yet, I was just wondering if anyone else has tried them, thanks it was way cheap, like 5 bucks with shipping, thats why Im a little scared.

when it comes to performance parts with ANY car make..you get what you pay for. Save your money and look at APR for their direct port programming if you're looking for a performance gain.

I'm not sure about the resistor mod on the other engines, but on the diesels(pre-2004) it is good for about 15-20hp and 30-40lbft.
