Think its worth it to replace if your OEMs are shot? Or just stick with new OEMS...

The stock brakes on the G20 SUCK. Getting a brake kit makes a HUGE improvement... Less mushy brake pedal, much less fade, and faster stopping.

Oh, I don't know about that. I think they are pretty decent. I'm not sure what you mean by brake kit, but cross-drilled or slotted rotors will do nothing for performance. At best they improve the look if you like that look.

With good pads, fresh good fluid (such as Motul), and preferably SS lines will make a difference.

Ok...thats what i got the impression from lookin the archives.

As for my rotors, they have 82k miles on them. I think they have been turned down once. Is it time to get new rotors anyways? Or just have them turned down again.

Also...on the subject...i still here so many different opinions about what pads to get...what are the best pads to grab? :)

On the subject of rotors, invest in SS lines before drilled or slotted rotors.

As for pads, I'm a fan of the OEM pads for the street. They grab first time every time. They don't have to have heat in them to work and unless you are a total asshole on the street, they are pretty much impossible to overheat on the street. If you to to a track event, you should get a set of track pads for those events. Swap them at the track and bed them in.

Really? Whenever I drive my friend's G20, the brakes seem really mushy. But it does have a prety good ABS system

But what if you need to replace your rotors anyway? My rotors will need to be replaced soon. I'm either going to have to get new OEM's or aftermarkets (i could probably turn my rotors, but would prefer not to). Does anyone know what the options are for OEM vs. aftermarket rotors for the G20? I can't seem to find too many options as far as aftermarket replacement rotors for the G (though i'm still looking).

Here are the options for owners of 1999+ G20's....you have none. I did some research on the net and found the following:

Stillen - Lists pads for the '99 G20, but no rotors. They do carry rotors for other model year G20's though ('90-97).

Nismo - Rotors are wider and thicker. Requires new matching calipers, pads, etc. Very expensive compared to OEM rotor replacement.

GRIP - Offers cross-drilled rotors, but doesn't appear to offer un-drilled or slotted. Don't think they even carry a rotor for the '99+ G20.

Power Slot - Offers a rotor for the 91-97 G20 but not the 99+ models.

So, unless you want to get rotors that were designed for a different car (SE-R, older model G, etc), you're pretty much stuck with the OEM rotors. Several companies do make aftermarket pads though (Stillen, EBC). Guess i'll either get my rotors turned or will just get replacement OEM's. Also, the brakes changed from the '99-2000 model year as well. I read that the 2K model has thicker rotors, though i'm not sure if the diameter and pad-to-pad width is the same or not.

you should get rotors from a skyline....

If you get bigger rotors, you'll most likely have to get bigger rims, right? cuz the p10 has 14 inches stock? maybe someone said that earlier, but I'm too lazy to read the before posts.
