impreza grill badge - logo - emblemgurkan2001 11-03-2003, 03:35 AM Hi, I am a new Impreza 2001 5 door 1500cc owner. I got it imported from Japan to Cyprus. It does not have the standard Subaru logo on it. The grille badge looks like an "I" on blue background . I wonder why I don't get the standard logo? Thanks for comments in advance. freakray 11-03-2003, 07:45 AM The 'I' badge is one of the logos the STI use, it's highly likely that the previous owner replaced the regular badge with that one as a 'JDM' upgrade. Usually the STI badges have a pink or white background as those are STI's recognised colors, it's still a Subaru badge though. gurkan2001 11-03-2003, 09:27 AM Thanks for your reply. Does your answer mean that my car is not A STI? And, what 's a JDM please? Sorry for `ignorance`! freakray 11-03-2003, 09:42 AM JDM = Japanese Domestic Market There is very little chance you have a Subaru Impreza STI. The STI is turbocharged for a start, and has a lot bigger engine than yours and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. This is a 2001 STI: http://www.carenthusiast.com/subaru/subaru_imprezastiprodrive2001_1.jpg gurkan2001 11-03-2003, 09:54 AM I am grateful for your kind help and cooperation. As the picture you attached shows, my car is not definitely a STI. Mine is a 5-door, 1500 cc Impreza 2001. I have done a search on the net but cannot find any information about the very car i have bought. Do you know where I can gather information about what kind of an Impreza I have? Sorry for the headache but you have been of great help to me.
