New suspensionsDexmaus 11-02-2003, 11:30 PM I just ordered Koni yellow and H&R Sports Springs for my 95 Integra LS, I'm using the Gold-line sports spring for now, i could only stick 1 finger in the gap, the spring gives me a really bumpy ride, I guess its too low. Its scraping the ground everywhere, gets me really frustrated. I've been doing some research on suspensions, and finally decided to go with Koni yellow + H&R Sports springs, I hope it turns out good. Does anyone know which setting is best for the Koni yellows? (front and rear) I'm in NYC, and the road here is really rough, i need a setting that could reduce the bumpiness to the least. Give it 500 miles or so to fully settle. Koni yellows allow ride height adjustment - 15-25mm in most cases, which is always a good thing. Almost like an adjustable coilover. If you live in an area where rust is common, I suggest coating the threads with anti-seize so they don't become rusted & useless. On-car adjustments! Interesting fact: Koni makes suspension dampers(shocks) for trains. If you have a nice set of tires an upgraded rear sway will make a nice improvement. BullShifter 11-03-2003, 12:35 AM Dexmaus 11-03-2003, 12:43 AM im not gonna put it on myself this time, it took me 6 hours to put on the lowering springs, i probably take it to a shop. how much u think they'll charge me BullShifter 11-03-2003, 02:28 AM usually a shop will charge 4.0hrs of labor not counting an alignment. it would be a wise idea to upgrade the strut mounts to poly bushings EDIT: Actual book time (what "most" shops will charge) Front - 3.0hrs Rear - 2.4hrs 4 wheel alignment - 1.6hrs 7.0hrs total SilverY2KCivic 11-03-2003, 09:13 PM I wouldn't pay any more than $100 for installation of new springs/shocks, as it only takes no more than a couple hours to do, and it's not all that hard for a shop to do. Dexmaus 11-03-2003, 09:22 PM I just went to 2 shops today, and both will charge me about the same, first one said its about $60 - 70 for one shock, that means its gonna be $240-280 for all 4, then other one wanna charge me $250 + $80 alignment = $330 I changed all 4 springs by myself before, do you think i could change the shocks myself too? is there any tips that i need to know before doing so, because i really dont see the point giving them couple hundred dollars do it for me.
