Needs to say it is LSD compatible, watch out some bottles say it is LSD compatible but only for topping off the fluid if it is low. I put in Mobil 1 synthetic which is LSD compatible and many on other forums use it. Just make sure to get GL-5 LSD compatible oil and you should be fine. Conventional oil will be 80w90 and I think the synthetics will be 75w90 or something similar, both should say GL-5.

Your manual, if you have one, should give you the right viscosity......
You can also add LSD additive to diff .......I got some at Nappa...
Came in tube labeled GM LSD additive I believe.....

You can also doublecheck with dealer to be sure.....

Unfortunately most dealers will try to scare you away from synthetics and they actually have a TSB out for the pathfinders that requires one specific type of LSD oil, Pennzoil. Just get the right spec/viscosity oil and you should be fine, there is nothing unique about the Nissan differentials. As I mentioned before, the correct oil is:

API GL-5
Viscosity SAE 80w-90

If you go with synthetic the viscosity will be slightly different because of the different makeup, 75w-90 but it is still the same API GL-5 designation.
