My Aztek is possessed...Halloween or Solar Flare?

I don't know what's going on with this thing. About a week and a half ago, the Anti-lock Brake lights started coming in and out randomly. Usually when I wasn't touching the brakes and they never stay in. I consulted the owners manual of course, and it talks about staying in...not in and out at random. I decided I'd better take it in when I get around to it. Then a few days later, things got much worse. The radio started changing stations at random, the displaying "CALIBRATE" in the clock window, then staying on when you open the door, then coming on when it was off. So I took it into a GMC dealership to be repaired under warranty. These guys had it for 3 days, put 300 miles on it, over charged me for an oil change, and said they fixed it by putting in a new ignition system part. The drive home was fine of course. (BTW, the mechanics said they could never get the thing to mess up). I had an appointment this morning at 7am, so I go to it, get it done, and back to the Aztek to drive home. Well it's gone completely loopy! I put in the key and start it up, I get the ABS lights coming in and out, the thing is beeping at me, the seatbelt light is coming in and out (my seatbelt is ON), the radio is doing the "CALIBRATE" thing and it is on (I'd had it off all morning) and changing stations. There's a warning on my dash saying to get engine service ASAP, and theres a SECURITY warning thing. So I says to myself: "Self, lets toss her into D and get the heck outta here". So I try to move the shift to D, and it's locked itself into P. Ach! Es ist nicht gut! So I turn it off. I try to start it again and again and it simply won't start now. I open the door and shut it and try. No good. This goes on for about 5 mins and I finally get it to start. This time no warning lights all the way home.

Has anyone else had these kind of problems? As far as I know, I haven't spilled anything in the front part of the Aztek. My kid spills stuff occasionaly in his baby seat, but theres no electronics boards back there right? The GMC guys told me they looked at the "computer stuff and it looks a'wrighty". I'm pissed about the extra 300 mi on it now, and it's not even fixed!

Ok, so this is all happening along with the ENORMOUS Solar storm that happened this week, and smaller flare ups last week. On Tuesday, the Sun spit out a massive ejection of elctro-magnetic particals and hurled it towards the Earth at a magnificent velocity (compared to most such ejections). The adviseries state that most electronics on earth COULD be effected by this stuff. I think mostly large transformers, communications devices (ie. cell phones), and navigation equipment (mostly on aircraft) would take the brunt of the damage. From my background I know a bit about electromagentic fields and electronics, but I'm far from an expert on such a thing. Does any here with some expertise think that my issues my be connected to this latest solar storm? Or is that completely far-fetched? I mean, I've scoured the internet and have not found any other incidents like mine recently, so it's a weak hypothesis at best.

I don't believe in ghosties and such, not in the conventional sense, but since it's Halloween and all, I'll pose the question: Is MY Aztek haunted? Will this be adapted into a future plot of a Poltergeist movie? Will it be called Poltergeist IV: The Poltiergeist with AWD. I hope not, that sounds pretty stupid.

I'm really worried about this thing. It's completely erratic behaivior, and the local redneck mechanics are telling me that they checked the "computer stuff" and it's "all good". Any thoughts?

Have the dealer check the bulletins on your vehicle.
I found 2 that may apply to your troubles.

Sounds like the same problem some of our members at www.aztekfanclub.com had with the BCM. Come on over, join the group and post your message in a Tek friendly atmosphere.
