LEAR0037 10-31-2003, 01:38 PM When ever it is raining or misty, and i attempt to start truck it idles rough and stalls...any suggestions before i drop it off at dealer ? I recommend you look at replacing your air intake filter and your fuel filter before spending the $$$. These two items require periodic replacement anyways, so you won't be wasting money and maybe solving the problem. RJExp 02-13-2004, 04:38 PM Put a signature on your posts. What is the info on your truck: year,model,2x4,4x4,engine size, any mods. If you have a 5.4L motor, your heater hose may be leaking on to the #4 coil causing it to misfire or read this post: After finding the firewall leak over #3 cop ( I stated #7 but ment #3) , I have found a few more leaks . They are at each end of the wiper cowl cover where it swoops down . After runnin the garden hose really good , I have determined that there are leaks at each end of the firewall . If you look straight down from there you will see a big loom of wires and a plug that gets pretty wet from the leakage . On all my fords in the past , ya kinda want to keep the moisture away from the wiring if all possible and with all these leaks and electonics inder the hood , its a wonder they run as well as they do . Anyway , after futhur investigation on the cover , there is a 1/4 " foam gasket that adheres to the firewall and sends all the water out to the fenders . Trouble is the adhesive is terrible and just would let the water leak past . Take a little black weatherstrip adhesive and glue that puppy down . You can wad up a rag and place it between the little fender tab and the cover to hold it down until the adhesive dries . I pretty much have it leak free after extensive testing . Not sure what the wire looms are but keeping them dry seems like a good idea over the long haul . hope this helps some of ya , Comin soon , I gonna dig into the flickering odometer next , theres a bad solder in there somewhere , I will post my findings .
