2.5 RS I do believe?BlackBlur 10-27-2003, 11:07 AM Ok , im obsessed with the 98ish model 2.5s . Which years does that model span? Which is the best model , are they turbo? Help me out a little bit, because I think im gonna get one. Just some specs, can i get the 2.5 N/A and then turbo it later, so itll be lower insurance? Thanks a bunch. freakray 10-27-2003, 11:12 AM From what I remember, the '98 model was just that, a '98 model. Perhaps you mean the body style? What did you have in mind, the 4-door or the coupe? The coupe was available from 1998 through 2000 in the 2.5 RS. All 2.5 RS are N/A, from 2001 onwards the WRX was available which was when the turbo 2.0 became available. You can turbo the 2.5RS using a kit, but keep in mind that it won't be covered by the insurance unless you declare it and if you don't declare it and have a wreck, they may refuse to pay out. BTW, a google search for '98 Impreza specs can get you the full spec on the car. BlackBlur 10-27-2003, 11:15 AM Im not for sure but, do the 99s and 98s have the same body? Becuase i just looked at the 99s and thats the body...sorry for my incorrect information. freakray 10-27-2003, 11:26 AM Im not for sure but, do the 99s and 98s have the same body? What did my previous post say? :banghead: BlackBlur 10-27-2003, 11:55 AM Pardon Me, which would you perfer 4d or coupe? freakray 10-27-2003, 12:08 PM 2 door, the coupe has a stiffer chassis. BlackBlur 10-27-2003, 12:27 PM Sweet, i guess that would be the best thing, considering im gonna be doing a tarmac rally type thing with it. LjasonL 10-27-2003, 04:52 PM 98-99 the GC6 was available. That's the 2 door coupe of the body style you want. It had a DOHC 2.5 2000-2001 the GC6 was still available, same body style, but it now has a SOHC 2.5. The SOHC and DOHC have similar peak numbers, but the SOHC has a better power curve and is slightly faster. The SOHC also doesn't have the famous head gasket problems of the DOHC. 2000-2001 also had the GM6. That's still the same body style you want, but 4 door sedan. They have the SOHC 2.5 too. 2002-2003 was the GD6. That's the new body style 4 door sedan, like the WRX, but with the SOHC 2.5 2002-2003 also had the GG6. That's the New body style wagon with a SOHC 2.5, like my car. 2004+ Still has the GD6, but it's the new body style with the different headlights. Same old SOHC 2.5 2004+ also still has the GG6, but the new body style with the new headlights. SOHC 2.5 again. The 2002+ is a bit heavier than the 98-01, but the 2002+ chassis is also about 250% stiffer than the 98-01 Jay! 10-27-2003, 06:02 PM Sorry, but isn't GC the sedan and GM the coupe? LjasonL 10-27-2003, 06:06 PM Nope... bjkhjl Jay! 10-27-2003, 07:53 PM ssjwizard 10-27-2003, 09:16 PM 98-99 the GC6 was available. That's the 2 door coupe of the body style you want. LjasonL 10-27-2003, 11:36 PM Really? (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=393672) Interesting, I stand corrected :) I must have got C = Coupe in my mind at some point. Jay! 10-28-2003, 02:34 PM Interesting, I stand corrected :) I must have got C = Coupe in my mind at some point.I took me a while to realize that the body type letter progresses as the generation changes: Sedan: C > D Wagon: F > G Coupe: M > (does not exist) Heh... now I want to see a GN Impreza. Maybe in the graphic Manipulation forum... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
