Xenon Lights and Dome Bulbs
seanpitt330 10-26-2003, 08:02 AM I have a 95 Explorer, Eddie Bauer, 2WD, and I wanted to know if I could convert the halogen headlamps to Xenon headlamps. I know I would have to replace the lenses becuase the OEM are translucent, not clear, but I don't know where to find them. Also, will I have to do any re-wiring or anything? Another thing that I cannot figure out is how to change the bulb on the drivers side dome light. I cannot figure out how to get the lens off to change the bulb, and no auto parts stores around here know either. The only way the dealership knew how to do it was to pay them $75 for the 2 minutes of labor and a bulb and they would do it. Please let me know if you can answer my questions. Thanks! dakine96 02-18-2004, 04:57 PM On item #2, I had a burned out dome light on my '95 EB and the parts store never seemed to have the exact bulb, never mind what their booklet says. Figuring the dealer would charge premium for the bulb, I got lucky and picked them up at a junk yard when searching for a new center console. A fresh wreck had just pulled in. Now the way I got my dome lens off was with my pocket knife. Just be careful not break the lens as you do it, just wiggle it a little. It's a lot easier to pop it back in when you're done.
