Hello All,

I recently purchase a used 98 range rover. Everything seem to work fine until today when I went to get into the car, the lift would no longer function. I sat and waited while the light keep blinking but with no result. Then, after about an hour of waiting (I just left the car running and would check on it every so often) I noticed that there was now an "EAS FAULT" error. The car seemed to be working just fine and then this happened. I've never owned a range rover before and I am only capable of reading the owners manual to find out how to change the spark plugs (Go me!;). I was wondering what this might indicate so as I might be a little more informed when I take the car into the shop to have it looked at.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Hey there, I got good news  and bad news :sly: The good news is that I think I have a good idea as to your problem. I had a similar situation with my 96 Range. It's either front and/or rear suspension that will need to be checked out.

The bad news, actually this is something you should get used to when you have to get some servicing done, it's quite expensive....it could very well be over $1,000 bucks to get it fixed, but then again it might be cheaper in your part of country (I'm in New York City).

That is also one of the biggest problems you can have with used Range Rover, that at some point the suspension will go....

Just make sure that if it's either the front or rear suspension, you might want to consider getting an overhaul of the entire suspension system. In my vehicle, I got the front suspension fixed and then the back went out about a month later.

Anyway, best of luck and hopefully it isn't as bad as I'm stating....just sharing my experience.
