Escort ZX2Dragonclan-X 10-07-2003, 08:54 PM Now, don't laugh, this is for reference only. On my recent trip to Pennsylvania i came across one of my old friends. He had bought a Ford Escort ZX2. He made it into a street car, I'm not sure about the modifications he made but here's my question to you guys. Can you modify a ZX2 into a street car and be able to keep up with competition? or is it a deadbeat 'wannabe' car? jeffescortlx 10-10-2003, 04:23 PM Zx2 dont get much respect, but they can hang with the best of them. Thay have a great motor, and the handling is good to. I personaly love my 2001 ZX2. Mine is still stock but stock is good. It has a 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC Z-Tech engine with variable valve timing. My car can already keep up with some of the competition because it pulls in at 15.5 sec. 1/4 mile. I'm planning on putting a turbo into it by GUDE that will boost it by 70 HP making it 200 HP. jeffescortlx 10-24-2003, 05:47 PM Stay away from the GUDE Turbo kit for the Ze-tec, it has improper ignition tunning and has a very high chance of destroying your motor. They have had a very bad reputation about this and is not admiting or taking responsibilty for there problem.
