Would I be able to get a supra running 10's with only about $10k in mods?

What makes it like that. What makes this car get below the 10's and other cars, (for example, the celica, or I dont know something else comparable in weight, engine size, all that) not get so low, either the reliablilty get bad, or something else. And Im talking about having it as a daily driven car. Im sorta new to cars, and still dont understand? Yes it can be the weight, but what the hell else is there?

Also, I hear so many people in school talking shit about it. Like some of the makes suck? They were slow or something? Which years were those? Which are the best? Even though I don't have the money, if this is true, that I could make the supra into a 10's daily driven car, then its my dream car.

Dude, you can get a 94 Supra, simply attach a couple of turbos with a few cheap add-ons and the stock engine will handle 700 hp, on pump gas, as a daily driver!. Its got the toughest engine next to the Skyline, boullet proof! That Celica is crap, don't even look there, its got a buzzy 4 cylinder. But the 6 cyl on the Supra is a work of art!

those Celica GT-4's are fast phuckers...yes yes. the Supra and Skyline are still my top 5 cars in my list to get. Skyline is FIRST

www.howstuffworks.com , read up on how "turbochargers" work. it's possible to have as many as you can fit in the engine bay, although not plausable. Top fuel pull tractors usually run 4, although on a much larger/stronger engine that the supra, I've seen an MK4 with 3 turbo's. The main reason you don't want more than one is because that's just more parts that can break, also more intake and exhaust piping that has to be made, adding alittle more lag, and 1 larger turbo can be just as efficient and give more than enough HP than twins. Of coarse most people upgrade because one large single can make more power than the stock twins.

there are so many different ways it is not even funny, you could get bigger twins or one big single then there are so many variations within those 2 options. Check out www.supraforums.com
B/c there really is no definitive answer to how much it takes for a Supra to get into the 10's which is wayyyyy to played out I mean who ever really used a 10 second 1/4 as a guideline to a fast car before F&F no one really because if you are driving a car that is say 12-13 second quarter...that is one fast fuckin car.

Actually I never seen F&F yet, my sis told me it sucked, lame story, but the cars were cool, which is prob. true. But anyway, the reason why I want a 10 sec. car is becuase many cars, like lambo's and others get 11. Also, that new Ford lightning, UGH! This one damn kid's getting one, they get around 11.5 seconds. He fuckin' thinks its/he's all that, and first off I hate fuckin' trucks, who the fuck races trucks, pretty gay (most people thinks its cool, but, sorry, nope). And second he keeps argueing with me that its impossible to get street cars to 10 seconds. Basically, I wanna show him up, and own his fuckin' truck ass.

And to him and his "buddies" horsepower is all that matters, when you also have a million other things to consider for example, weight. ok the guy with the v8 knows nothing at all. The supra is not a v6. That guy doesnt even eserve to be driving a car let be allowed to work on one. so like...how old are you kid?
please dont go shooting for a 10 second car when it sounds like youd have trouble driving a 16 second civic...you can read about how everything works or how to drive a turbo car on the internet and i can almost guarantee if you think you can youll wreck your car real quick

so anyway...constructive type stuff...
if you want 11s in a supra for cheap...
11s can happen on stock twins in an auto pretty cheap
get an auto + high stall + boost controller + the basic bolt ons + fuel controller and tuning...nitrous helps as well
10 seconds is a far cry from 11...
ps...$10k on top of the $20k minimum you have to buy the car for is a lot of lunch money isnt it?
if youre thinking about buying a POS mkiii and making it run 10s forget it.

lightnings run low 14s stock
low 13s with a 4lb pulley and a few other mods
any competent TT driver will eat him.

Hehe, guess you really want to smoke someone, I prefer 6 speed manual rather than auto, the clutches wear down if you have a fast car, but it is stil cool. You can prob get a good amount of HP for 10 gs like Nitrous, turbo, and other little goodies. Though with the turbo you will need to a an intercooler, but nitrous, you won't. MOreover, nitrous will make the turbo spull faster, but in regular races other than drag races you might experices too much back presure to be putting Nitrous. As in my case, but you can surely smoke that lighting, stock.
