--------------

Instructions are in the owner's manal in your glove box, assuming you have not forgotten the code when you originally activated TheftLock. If you can't remember exactly, but it is probably one of several numerical codes used by you, try them all -- there is no penalty for up to 8 failed tries. After that you must wait an hour with the ignition on to get 3 more tries.

If you bought a used car, contact the original owner and see if he remembers the code (it might be written in the "Notes" at the end of the owner's manual, or on a page near the instructions on how to reset the code.

If there is no way to determine the code that was used to lock the radio, the dealer (who has an authorized account at Delco) has a procedure to get a scrambled code from the radio and call Delco to get the unscrambled code which will unlock the radio.

Visit www.geocities.com/unlocker03 for cheap access to your unscrambled codes. Dealer will charge $60-80.

I had the same issue when the starter was changed. The previous owner couldn't remember the code so the dealer unlocked it for $35.

Hi,
I sell this unlock code a lot cheaper than anyone else, including the dealers. I sell them for GM, Saturn, Buick, Pontiac, Geo, Chevy (Chevrolet), Oldsmobile, GMC, and many other makes. Take a look at these pages...

I had the same problem. Searched the net and found these insturctions and they worked GREAT!!! Here are the Directions on how to unlock the radio.

01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds

03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don’t take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.

04. Press the AM/FM button

05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.

06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05

07. Call 1 800 537 5140 08. Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”

09. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)

10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)

11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice

12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11

14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable. The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code.

Does this apply to RDS radios as well, I need to disconnect my radio to install a amplifier but I will need to get it to work afterwards.

Not sure. With mine there is a anti-theft light that blinks, if yours has anti-theft light, then would guess it would be same.

Does not apply to RDS radios. Doesn't matter with them. They have the VIN assigned to them, so as long as you're putting the radio back in that you pulled out, it won't be locked...
