I knew it was bound to happenhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/smokin.gif. Either somebody with substantial mods, or somebody that has one in a much lighter car. It was the latterhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/icon16.gif.

I know I'm usually detailed (read: long-winded) in my racing posts, but it's late, and if I missed any details, ask me.

Basically, I was feeling froggy, and I revved on this all-black CRX with a Mugen kit. Pretty clean-looking if you ask me. We started from a roll the first time, and it was actually pretty-even.

We both slowed down so could both get this yellow-light coming up at red.

At take-off on green, we were even (bald tires...will post pics tomorrow if necessary). If I had better tires, I knew that I could probably still out-launch his car, with my stronger bottom-end and all.

Anyhow, he pulls a little at the end of first, and a bit more at the end of 2nd, with my front-bumper ending up steady at his back-bumper at third, where it held until we shut-down at about 95 or so.

I laugh with excitement, and yell: "you have a b16!" It turns-out he does, like I said, with at least an exhaust. It was a lot closer than I would expect a race like that to be, so I am not too-too hurt about my loss.

Lastly, the other b16 cars I have raced were: a '99 Si with i/e; a 1992-1995 EX coupe with a swap and i/h/e; a 1994 Del-Sol...dunno if he had a swap or had a stock Del Sol b16, since he took-off his car's badges...at least i/e as far as I heard. All these other cars I jumped-off the line about 2-3 cars consistently, and beat by between 3-4 cars.

My mods so far are: ignition advance to 20degrees (15deg stock), and a generic cone-filter.

I would like to run your se-r (if my car was running right now) I think it would be a good race. I hear alot about not under-estimating them, I'm not saying I would win but i think it would be fun just cuz i've never ran one before.

Although I would love to run you, you are just too damned far awayhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/headshake2.gif. Anyhow, if you want to get ahold of some SE-R enthusisiasts that might run you, try here: http://www.serca.org/ne/main.html

I really wish my friend kept his 1992 GS-R. That was both our babies, since I had the ideas, and he had the money. He had to sell it to have more money for his upcoming wedding...and I wrecked my Civic, which led to my SE-R. Never got to run him straight-up with ithttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/frown.gif. It was the exact same teal color as yours, with an original Black Widow kit. As a matter of fact, he had the first Integra, period, in AZ to have the Black Widow kit when it came out. It was clean, everything molded, no overly-huge wing, no stickers, custom, three-piece 18-inch light-weight Racing Hart C2's, with a 1.5-inch deep lip. Only one of it's kind, being that it was 18-inches in diameter, but only 7-inches in width, allowing it to fit under the car without having to roll the fenders. We called it the Green Lanternhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/biggrin.gif. I'll try to find pics.

perhaps its time for a gen 5 hs header,cai,underdrivepulleys,s-4 cams, and a jwt re-program, and then bye-bye honda. OR a nice t28,fmic,370cc injectors ,gti-r manifold, and speaking of which, how is that gtir swap working out for you?

HAH! I wish!

I'm just a poor college student right now. The SR20DET is still sitting in a corner of my friend's shop, waiting for my cash...:(. Probably won't happen until May of '04, when I finally graduate from college and start a new career.

Besides, because of all the reasons stated above, I still need that one-year limited-warranty given me by the dealership I bought the car from, so cone-filter and timing-advance is it, for nowhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/banghead.gif...unless you have some other 'free' or cheap mods to suggest.

What was the first thing to go with the tranny? How did it crap-out? Lastly, how much to replace?

third gear went snap (literally), i run a shop so i got the tranny for 300 and put it in myself. it wasn't too bad really, took me about 6 hours (with beer) probably about a grand for normal people

the only knock on the all powerful sr20, is the tranny it's paired with.

nope. those won't work on the sr20, other than the weight reduction, but he has a aem warrantee so i doubt he'l do anything dramatic.

It's bound to happen. You know that for every single B16'd Civic you kill, there's someone out there who is faster than you.

Anyway, one of my best kills was a Civic SiR yesterday. Those familiar will know that this baby has a stock B16 engine. I am not sure if he has any mods, but I will take it that he has since he is lowered, and I could hear his muffler from two cars back (he was behind me). Anyway, after clearing a hump I sepd off, and he thought of hanging back, maybe figuring I only had the usual I/H/E, or maybe evn just a large muffler. I looked at my rear view, and he was suddenly coming fast behind me. I put it to fourth, and came up with the same gap on the stop light. Heh, he didn't figure that there's more to my baby than the usual I/H/E (recently added cam and gear, as well as pulleys). That was one sweet kill.
