I replaced my alternator today because i was getting all the usual signs of a bad alternator (lights flickering, all power fading whille driving.) Eventually it just stopped runing altogether. When I put the alternator in and jump started the car(because the battery was dead) left the cables connected for about five minutes. Disconected them and the car ran fine for about 3 mins then died. The battery is about 2 months old so i took it to autozone to check it and it was at 4 volts. So i got a new one and installed it. the car ran fine for about 10 mins and i parked it. My question is: Could I still have a problem and not know untill the battery gets low again in 3-4 days or could it be that the battery was too dead to be charged back up by the alternator by driving. Thx!

I have the same problem, so I noticed if I diconnect my battery every time I shut my car off, the battery stays charged.... so I concluded I have a short somewhere. Check your trunk light to make sure it stays off, glove box light (I dont have one), you can try taking out your radio's faceplate (mine is fryed.) Those are about the only things I can think of... If you fix your problem, or have an idea... email me Joe6America9@yahoo.com
