98 Honda Accord... dead fuse problem?DarienA 09-19-2003, 01:45 PM Hey all I have a 98 Honda Accord... after the pounding we took here in Baltimore, MD last night I was happy to see no damage due to falling trees, branches, etc in the apt. complex I live in. However when I started up the car I noted two problems. #1. My power locks are dead. None of the 4 door switches work and even putting the key in the drivers door and holding it back to unlock the 4 doors isn't doing anything. #2. The drivers window control panel. The 2 switches on that panel that control the drivers front and rear windows work fine. The 2 switches that control the passengers front and rear window are not functioning. However the individual window controls on those passenger doors work the windows just fine. For issue #1 I thought the problem might be the fuse located on the passenger's side #12. So I swapped it with #16 which controls the rear right power window. It still didn't work, even though the rear right power window worked fine. Ok so it's not the fuse that controls power locks... I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! HondaCharles 09-26-2003, 12:37 PM It sounds like you need to reset the multiplex control unit. Try the instructions below. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I have found this message in another forum and it worked for me. "Ok, first take and put the intermittant wiper switch on the lowest setting(what would be the longest wiper delay setting). Then either pull the back up fuse (7.5) from the under hood fuse panel or to be sure you have the right fuse, disconnect the battery for 15 secounds. Then reconnect/insatll fuse and turn the key to the on position, turn off the wipers and now try all the power items. If this was the problem then they all should be ok.I know it sounds weird but it does happen and the reset does work..." Good luck. davidhe 12-12-2003, 09:48 PM I too currently have this exact same problem (all power locks and passenger side windows don't work) and I had it last winter too with the onset of the winter rains. It is definitely weather-related because my problem went away in warmer weather and has only just resurfaced with the onset of the first rains (I live in CA). I will try this fix from HondaCharles (thanks!) and would be interested if others have tried and had it work for them under these exact circumstances. xevino 01-06-2004, 01:34 PM quote -->jweller try resetting the multiplex system on the car. set the intermitant wiper time to the middle position turn the key on/off/on without starting the car <----quote this worked for me!!!!!! whoohoooo thank dude! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
