DC5 ITR Dominates in endurance-racing...carrrnuttt 09-18-2003, 11:07 PM This probably needs to go in another forum, but I hardly ever go to the track forums so: http://asia.vtec.net/article/MME2003Race/index.html What's even more amazing is, in qualifying, which is more indicative of a car's over-all speed thru the course (no competition while running), the Integra Type R were ahead of Porsches, TVRs, various Lotus, and all the Mitsubishi Evolutions! From what I have heard, the Honda Integra Type R is a mid-high 13-second car in stock form. EDIT: Forgot to add that the ITR was running with its stock braking system, and during the 12-hour enduro, never changed a single brake-pad. Ace$nyper 09-18-2003, 11:11 PM thats awesome cool to know. -The Stig- 09-19-2003, 12:29 AM Pfff that doesnt impress me... my truck has stock brakes and its over 15 years old... hahaaa stupid Integra... :icon16: Yeah, the SRT-4 boys dont seem to appreciate being told their wonder box is gettin beat by some Honda. :lol2: fatninja19 09-19-2003, 04:29 AM Very impressive!!! How much hp does that ITR have in stock form?? what engine?? 90gs 09-19-2003, 10:30 PM never changed a single brake-pad. uhm.. i go like what 50000 miles between new brake pads? thats at least 50,000 hours... is enduro racing known for owning the hell outta brake pads? GundamExpo 09-19-2003, 10:48 PM uhm.. i go like what 50000 miles between new brake pads? thats at least 50,000 hours... is enduro racing known for owning the hell outta brake pads? DUH! :cwm27: Road track racing is hard on everything. Endurance is even worse. carrrnuttt 09-19-2003, 10:52 PM uhm.. i go like what 50000 miles between new brake pads? thats at least 50,000 hours... is enduro racing known for owning the hell outta brake pads? Imagine going up to triple-digit speeds and hauling back-down at least a dozen times. That's just one lap. Imagine doing over 250 laps. It's not just making the pads last, it's having them not fade, so that they can remain competitive through-out the race. Also, if you've ever played Gran Turismo, you'll know that you have to ride on the brakes HARD in certain corners to be even competitive and get the best line. fatninja: The DC5 ITR has about 220HP stock, in a car that only barely weighs more than the last ITR (2550lbs), with more TQ (160+), which peaks almost across the whole powerband, giving it a smoother, more powerful acceleration. fatninja19 09-20-2003, 04:16 PM fatninja: The DC5 ITR has about 220HP stock, in a car that only barely weighs more than the last ITR (2550lbs), with more TQ (160+), which peaks almost across the whole powerband, giving it a smoother, more powerful acceleration.
