which handles better 69 camaro or mustang?CrzyMR2T 09-15-2003, 02:32 PM i was wondering which one handled better, i looked around, and couldnt get much info on it. i heard that the mustang handled better, and if it is, is there much difference? or could u tune the camaro to be just as good? which one has the better potential for handling with regular mods? no welding or anything like that, just bolt ons, and good suspension tuning. i thought about going to a book store to read about it, and not be lazy, but decided to ask here while i was online. Volvord 784VC 09-15-2003, 09:44 PM What year of Mustang were you considering? The suspension changed considerably on the Mustang over the years. CrzyMR2T 09-16-2003, 01:47 AM 68-69 mustang, around there. Blue02R6 09-16-2003, 07:00 AM What motors? The BB Camaros had poor handling for the most part, but the I-6's are suposed to be much better. Volvord 784VC 09-16-2003, 09:55 AM This is an age old battle, I remember going to races in the late 60's just to watch the battles between the Camaro's and Mustang's. To be honest neither car was spectacular at handling, but looking at the geometry, weight distribution, and the results over the years the Camaro would be the easiest to turn into a very good handling car. This is not to say that the Mustang cannot be made into a street terror, they won their fair share of races, but it will take a little more work. The great thing about the years you are talking about is that a lot of "real testing and track time" has been spent developing and improving these cars handling. Much of this information is available in books and articles. I would suggest reading some books on the can-am series, stck car set-up, handling improvement, etc. Good luck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
