What kind of car is the B16 in? Was the accord a V6? On a freeway? From a stoplight? I hope you don't plan on taking any english classes in college.

I doubt it was a V6 EX, probably just the 4 banger EX since they were even in 1st and 2nd. I raced my brother in his stock 98 V6 accord and he had me off the line, but vtec and about an 800 pound advantage pulled me right back up to him at around 6k in 1st.

Maybe he can drive better? Let's be realistic here, you DID run a 16.1 in a car that should be running VERY low 15's or better...

Besides, having a b16 in a lighter CRX puts him closer to your power-to-weight ratio than you realize.

Lastly, it is quite possible that the Accord didn't spray off the line...which is the smart thing to do with FWD cars.

I ran a 16.1 with heavy 17" rims, sub box, full interior and a crappy launch. I only had the engine for a week when I went to the track and only got in two runs. Who knows maybe it was a V6, but he hasn't replied to his own post so..

I only said what I said because I ran my friend's '01 V6 Accord. The Accord is lightly-modded, but finely-tuned and kept pristine (this is my friend with the shop). That Accord also beat his brother's '03 Civic Si by a car when the Accord had four people and the Si had 3.

Anyhow, my SE-R jumped him by about 3 cars at the start, which increased to maybe 4 by the time 90+MPH came around.

This was almost the exact same scenario I had with a b16 Del Sol (no idea if it was a JDM/USDM swap, if a swap at all...no badges), except the Del held me to my three-car lead, instead of losing more ground.

Now a b16 Rex is MUCH lighter than that Sol. I have yet to run with a b16 Rex, but I would expect to be beaten, just like I would expect to be beaten by your car in my almost stock SE-R.

All I have done is 2 1/4' catback in my 88 dx CRX, and well of course the b16 :biggrin: . He was running an 85 shot through his 95 EX 4 cylinder, NO MODS EXCEPT AN INTAKE!!!! :grinno:

well you have to think that your car is alot ligher than his and by shooting an 85 shot, hes got more power than you. But anyways, good race.
