Hi everyone,

my question is... would adding something like (autosuspension.com) to the rear leaf springs add any enhancement to the on-road feel?? (ie. increase the dampening, firm the ride??)..

i saw this commercial once on TV (www.autosuspension.com) w/ a F150 w/ LOAD in the bay and going thru a salom w/ and w/o the suspension upgrde on the leaf spring. MAJOR difference..! Body roll decreased dramatically.. (yes, i know, theydon't have anything for import trucks yet, but i thought i'd ask you more experienced gentlemen)..

Speaking for myself, but most of us here are into offroading and not chasing a Camaro through the slalom! My biggest on road improvement was adding the plus 20% Bilstien shocks. I removed the rear swaybar permantently and the truck still handles better than stock shocks and swaybar. They do make for a smoother commute and help considerably offroad. You can't really do much to leaf springs except replace them with aftermarket like SLR offers. Upfront you can replace the heavier duty torsion bars made by Swayaways or SLR.

I found the handling of my X improved just by changing my tires from the BFG Long Trails to the BFG AT KO's. I can't wait to see what happens when I install 20% Bilstien shocks (Next mod).

I only started this thread because I keep reading all these POOR reviews about how the Xterra/Frontier handles, so before my next major investment, I want to make sure all of the facts of the X. Also any mods avaliable for the X..

The Xterra doesn't handle poorly for what it's designed for. If handling is a major concern you might want to consider a different vehicle. Most mods people do here are to reduce shock and bottoming out or increase articulation, not reduce roll. Trying to change the basic design of the vehicle is more than likely a mistake unless you have a LOT of money.
