just purchased a used 2001 Xterra SE. the radio/cd controls on the steering wheel don't work. any suggestions on what might be wrong? Thanks!

there is a coil cable located in the steering wheel. it has a hard wire connection there. it also has wires connecting the other steering wheel commands. i just had nissan replace mine for over $400. i'd do it myself now. get a manual. you have to take off the air bag.
the other option is the connections at the radio coming from the steering wheel. you can test for continuity at the radio, once you remove it. or have a shop do the test, then you do the work once you have a diagnosis. if you have continuity at the radio, then it's not the coil cable. good luck.
