BLASPHEMY I SAY! :evillol: What the heck do you want a 5.0L for? I'd go with a 350 if I wanted a V8. Either that or the 4.3l V6. Paonessa 09-14-2003, 10:44 AM BLASPHEMY I SAY! :evillol: What the heck do you want a 5.0L for? I'd go with a 350 if I wanted a V8. Either that or the 4.3l V6. get the 4.3 Turbo v6 out of the GMC syclone/typhoon mytwopointeight 09-14-2003, 11:35 AM it didnt look to to be, a couple ricers, who thougth they werer quick, it had stickers all over it and a wing and body kit with a weed eater exaust, and i like 5.0 my uncle has one in his s-10 and it scoots, plus i can get the engine and tranny for 100 bucks so its agood deal BlkCamaroSS 09-14-2003, 11:40 AM get the 4.3 Turbo v6 out of the GMC syclone/typhoon I got a buddy right now selling a Brav-Phoon :evillol: . It's a 94 Bravada upgraded with all of the Typhoon parts, and 2000 Camaro SS rims. I think it would be a pretty tight daily driver :grinyes: -The Stig- 09-14-2003, 01:27 PM it didnt look to to be, a couple ricers, who thougth they werer quick, it had stickers all over it and a wing and body kit with a weed eater exaust, and i like 5.0 my uncle has one in his s-10 and it scoots, plus i can get the engine and tranny for 100 bucks so its agood deal which 5.0? Ford 5.0(302) or a Chevy 5.0(305)? Putting in a Ford motor would be a pain... Chevy 350 would be a much easier install I'd say. visit Jags That Run (http://www.jagsthatrun.com) mytwopointeight 09-14-2003, 02:57 PM chevy 305 all the way, im not gonna ruin my truck with a poc ford engine. -The Stig- 09-14-2003, 03:01 PM well, if you're going that far i'd suggest chevy 350... the 305 is... OK. 350 will give you better performance per dollar compared to anything else. And if you're gonna race it around you'll smoke alot more cars if you had the 350, rather than the weak 305. mynismo 09-14-2003, 03:17 PM wut are u putting that 6.6 in? s-10? if so DAMN that thign will scoot '85 300zx... weighs twice as much but who cares. 300hp and 400 lbs of tourque stock is gonna move anything. mytwopointeight 09-15-2003, 08:33 AM personally i like the 305, its not as powerful as the 350 but i dont think its much different -The Stig- 09-15-2003, 10:36 AM personally i like the 305, its not as powerful as the 350 but i dont think its much different 305 - bore and stroke is a terrible ratio, it's heads flow little to nothing. 350 - one of the best bore and stroke ratios, stock heads flow decently good. Stock a 305 with a 4bbl Carb, intake, headers will make about 210hp. While a 350 stock with a 4bbl carb, intake, headers will make about 260hp. Add a camshaft to the equation... and 350 just starts walking away from the 305. It'll cost alot to make a 305 make as much power. The GM 5.0 is the bastard child of motors... it's no where as good as the Ford 5.0. fatninja19 09-15-2003, 11:05 AM It'll cost alot to make a 305 make as much power. The GM 5.0 is the bastard child of motors... it's no where as good as the Ford 5.0. Thats right! har harr! :sunglasse And BlkCamaroSS: I vote that you buy that thing! mytwopointeight 09-15-2003, 12:52 PM i have driveen both engines and i cant feel much of a difference in power, and both engines were bone stock, plus this engine is an awesome deal, and a 305 in an s-10 shoudl still give plenty of power to take alot of cars. Ozzy88GTA 09-17-2003, 05:35 PM I have a 305 TPI in mine and it's a pain trying to find heads, cams, and other aftermarket parts to fit it. The 350 will give you a best bang for the buck, plus there are tons of aftermarket parts for them. As far as fitment they are both the same. The best way would be a crate motor and a 700R-4 or a TH400 depending on the use. Then upgrade the rear end and put bigger tires and you are set. Hope you have a good bank account. RedLightning 11-03-2003, 10:32 PM dude i hate ricers, hondas are nice and thats a funny kill uv urs! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
