which is harder to find?drophead99 12-03-2001, 02:01 AM I was told by the a Dodge dealership that the Neon ACR is harder to find that the Neon R/T is this true? Also another question I have is what is the difference between the two? respond to this or AIM me at drophead99. Thank you... KatWoman 12-03-2001, 02:32 AM The ACR is a barebones model with very little options, the idea to make it more lightweight for racing. They typically have the DOHC motor as does the R/T. There is also no speed limiter. And the suspension comes with KONI adjustable struts....you can adjust the stiffness of the suspension. This model is big hit with those into autocrossing. The R/T is basically the sport model (which is supposed to be loaded with options) and no speed limiter. I am not postive whether the struts are KONI's or not. I know they have an R/T model for the new generation Neons, but not sure if they have an ACR coming out for the new gen. The ACR is definitely a rare one. R/T's are more available. There are a lot of people out there running around with ACR's and are not even aware of the potential they have as far as making it a little racing machine. drophead99 12-03-2001, 05:04 AM If you where in my position which one would you buy? A 2002 ACR or R/T? ilbfastSumday 12-03-2001, 10:58 PM R/T's do NOT come with the adjustable Koni's. I've not seen a new ACR either...is there a link to one on the web or something? Maybe I just don't like change, but the new gen's don't seem to look as good as the 1st gen. Then again, maybe I'm just biased because I just bought a 1st gen. As for your question...what are you planning on doing with your car? Are you going to autocross, do more street racing, or just want to make it look cool (I'm assuming this option is ruled out since you're actually interested in an ACR)? drophead99 12-03-2001, 11:29 PM I want a car that has performace and power. I would lean more toward the performance though since I am mostly in the streets and there are a lot of twists and turns by my house where a lot of people race. dodgeneonacr1998 09-20-2003, 06:50 AM I have a 98 ACR and love it.Only the older model acr's are without speed limiters mine has one at aprox 135 mph.It has more than 135 with a grand and a half left to red line or two and a half to rev limit. You can get an ac in an acr that is the only option.Im not sure but i think the steering is tighter in the acr than the r/t.R/T and other models are 18.1 ratio while the acr's are tighter with a 16.1 im not to sure but the r/t may be 16.1 also.ACR's came in a sohc and a dohc with an occasionall 4 door model.(they are rare).hope I helped you out!!! OH ANOTHER THING THE ACR'S ARE SCCA RACE LEGAL STOCK!!!!! WOO HOO AND MAY I MENTION IT TAKES THE TITLE MORE THAN ANY OTHER CAR IN SCCA. CAN I GET A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! PEACE---WILLY----> :evillol: Scatch! 09-23-2003, 11:53 PM If you're talking '02 ACR vs. R/T, I'd get the ACR, no question. The new ACRs come with sweet D/A (double-adj) struts. Yum! The ACR will also tend to be lighter with fewer luxuries. diablo25mn 09-28-2003, 09:08 PM 01-02 ACR... SOHC magnum with active intake(has a set of secondaries that open up when you reach a certain rpm) has a better header than the std. sohc and has dynnamic racing struts that are actually 24 way automatic adjustable struts (rebound and stiffness) which the owner can select through the 5 setting dial at the bottom of the struts, also has a better sway bars. selp 11-17-2003, 06:24 PM acr is defenetly harder to find .. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
