My problem is that i backed up into a light post last week, the ones with a cement base and my rear bumper is scratched. The scratch is obviously deep as I can see the acutal bumper itself, paint and primer is all scratched off. I considered taking it to the shop to get it repaired, but decided to try fixing it myself (cant possible make it worse). Anyone have experince, tip or links.. Thanks

What did you do that for? You got tinted winders(windows)?

Is the bumper cracked? :useless:

Your best bet is to replace the bumper & re-paint but this is not really needed. A good body shop can fill & re-paint the bumper or blend. You'll make more work for the body shop if you dont know what your doing. Just put some spackle or joint compound on that bitch & then use a marker or crayon to color it in :icon16: j/k - i better put or some one may try it :screwy: Permanent markers do work well for quick touch-ups on rock chips, or atleast to make the METAL less noticeable. This does wash off after a while, looks better than touch-up paint on some colors - black being one of them.
