Swirl Marks!!LakeMountLude 04-01-2001, 02:37 PM Living in Florida you cant get rid of them (so it seems) anyone know anything that works?? if so pleeeeeease help! Jay! 04-03-2001, 06:57 AM what are you going to compare your swirl marks to? ;) civicdude 04-03-2001, 09:03 AM The swirl marks you are getting are probably from either drying the car with a towel instead of a chamois, or applying wax in a circular motion instead of a back and forth motion. There are a few things that you can do to remove swirl marks. First of all what color is your car? I am a detailer and what I do is use a swirl remover and the buffing machine. I use a foam pad and set the buffer to a low speed. After I do the whole car I use Meguires #7 glaze by hand. I apply it to the entire car and let it dry for 40 minutes. You have to let the oils in the glaze penetrate into the cars paint. I then wipe it off and Wax the car with Meguires Yellow wax. LakeMountLude 04-03-2001, 02:10 PM well i use that really super absorbant thing to dry my car.. it is really smooth and i never use a towel.. secondly i have meguiars number 7 or 8 i dont remember it is the one that says its 'paintable'... the only prob is when i use that stuff it seems like i have to use too much! i feel like it takes a 1/4 bottle to put it on my car.. cause when i put a small amount and put it on the car when i look at the hood at a certain angle i can see where even tho i went over it it doesnt look like aything is there... and i didnt know i had to let that stuff sit that long... i use liquid glass wax and i use it every other week... so should i use a precleaner then use that meguiars.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
