Ok, its time to upgrade my stock tape deck in my car with a new, kick-ass CD deck. I'm trying to decide between two, and I was wondering if any of you knew which of the two is better?

thanks!

Based on the specs alone, i would go with the Sony. But that isn't all you should consider when getting a cd/tape deck. You should try and find a way to listen to both headunits and then decide, since you have no other way to judge the sound quality they produce without actually hearing them. The only plus the Pioneer has is that it's a detachable face, as opposed to the camoflauge face of the Sony. You can always upgrade to a higher powered system, but if you have a headunit that makes crappy sound to begin with, it's a waste.

You can get either for about $235-$245 on eBay.

I would go with the Pioneer DEH P7500. I've got the 7300 and it's an easy-to-use interface. I just saw one of those Sony headunits the other day, and it seemed very hard to read controls when you are trying to change things, and I think it would be a big pain when trying to play with your settings and driving at the same time. I know my Pioneer is easy to screw with and drive. But like I said that's what I got, so maybe I'm being a little one sided :licka:

If you're driving, you shouldn't be screwing around with your settings anyway, :grinno: J/K.

LOL yeah that's true, but who doesn't sit and adjust something here and there at a stop light. Or even if you're not doing it while you are driving, it's still nice to have an easy-to-understand screen. That way you don't get frustrated about trying to figure out what you are doing. At least that's my view on things.
