I just recently instaled a b16a2 engine into my civic from a japanies 92-95 civic. The check engine light is on in my car. Is there anything I need to do. My car is a DX model. Do I need to modify anything or is there something that needs to be done in every swap. my car revs a little high and back fires alot when changing gears and stepping on the gas after changing the gear. please help with any good advise or comments. thanks.

My 95 DX Coupe did the same thing after I got it swapped for a D15B7 Jap Spec that used to be a carburetor. AnywayZ, what the guy told me is to replace my oxygen sensor. It's located right underneath the engine on the manifold. U should be able to just screw it off (Mine is screwed on really tight for some reason, still can't get it off) You can get them for 100 bucks new, just don't go to the Honda dealership, they were gonna charge me 270 for it.

You need to jump the service connector, under the the glovebox above the ECU, and get the CEL codes then you can go about fixing it. Refer to the this http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t131519.html thread on the subject. When you get the code(s), it can then be fixed.
