I just got this 1994 Lantra 1.8CDi Automatic and when I start her she seems to idle very fast around 1500rpm then after a while she wil flutuate from 1500 to 2500rpm continously up and down. Any ideas what causes that guys or is there an answer. ?
I also have a noisy squeak on the front passenger side wheel area when a passenger sits in and we are moving. Had suspension checked and roll bar mountings.

I`ve got a 95 that does the same thing. I assume it`s a vacume leak,but I just haven`t had time to look.

Just had my squeak fixed... Aparently lantras are prone to ball joint drying out by front wheel passenger side. I am not a mech buthe also said idle reving was due to a small motor that acted like a sensor and would cost around £300 to renew .......phew a bit steep eh.
Apparently they eventually if not fixed will cause stalling.

I`ve got two complete engines sitting in my garage. Both have all of the sensors and switches still in place.
If you can find out which one it is, I`ll make you a deal on one.
