Durango or no?94-T88 08-21-2003, 11:49 PM I am thinking about buying a 99 durango for towing and some daily use. I have read some negative reviews on the durango and not sure if this will be a bad decision or not. The Durango I am lookin gat now has 89k on it and the poast owner did tow with it. What are all of your takes on the durango for reliability? Thanks chubbysdad 09-05-2003, 11:06 AM I have a 2000 durango 5.9 with the 3.92 rear. Well let me rephrase that. My wife has a durango. This is one of the best towing vehicles that I have drivien. We tow a 23' camper with it, and it tows great. I know a few others that have the 3.55 rear with 4.7 and are not too happy. Just my 2 cents dodgerox 10-23-2003, 01:00 PM I say yes i also have a 2000 durango 5.7 slt magnum it is the best suv in the world! P.S. do not get 4.7 they have no power!!!! But if i were you i would wait until the 2004's come in they ROCK!!!! my grand father works for chrysler and he used it as a company car and it is so much better than the current durango so hold on until september. (and yes, the 2004 has a HEMI!) Inntcptr 11-03-2003, 09:01 PM I had a 98 durango. 5.3 with the 3.92 rear end. I towed a few midsized cars with it. I could hardly tell they where on the back. Definately get one with the 3.92. I also cut out the sides on the air box and used a K&N air filter, it did give me an extra few horses. Just make sure you keep changing the trans fluid regularly, and you should be fine. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
