95' pontiac transport 3800daman 08-20-2003, 09:24 PM best van i ever owned,135,000 miles and running strong that 3800 is just awsome great engine;with rutine maintenance she'll run for ever. ciras3 12-22-2003, 11:43 PM I totally agree with you. I special ordered my 95 Trans Sport with the 3800, waited 12 weeks to have it made at the Tarrytown factory, and now have 120,000 miles on it with virtually no problems. C. Smith daman 12-23-2003, 10:26 AM What kind of milage are you getting on yours?? ciras3 12-23-2003, 12:33 PM Hi, Boy.. I really couldn't tell you. I don't let it get below 1/4 tank as I don't want the fuel pump to get warm. I do know that it had over 100,000 miles on it last summer and I drove it from my house which is about an hour N. of Milwaukee, Wis. and made it all the way to St.Louis, Mo. before I had to fill it up again. I want to think that I get almost 400 miles to the tankful. Whatever it is, I am satisifed and haven't really had to do the math where there was a concern that I wasn't getting good enough mileage. I keep on top of my van as far as oil changes and tire rotations so I'm sure I am squeeking every mile/gallon that is possible. What type of things have you had to repair on your van ? C. Smith daman 12-23-2003, 01:27 PM Hello, I bought mine used with 87,000 miles on her, from what i understand what has been replaced on it was frount wheel bearings(only because the wheel sensors whent bad)thats all i now for shure, the only prob. i have now is the front struts need replacing, and within the next week or two i'm replacing the seal in the upper intake it's leaking coolant just a little bit, but thats only minor in my eyes, i'm very picky on my maintanance too,I also replaced the tape player with a factory pontiac cd player so everything looks nice and clean and matches. All my cars are 100% stock and in original condition. I love originality. Dan ciras3 12-23-2003, 09:32 PM Hi, I've owned mine since day one. I special ordered it with pretty much everything except the power sliding side door, and the auto traction. I knew a guy that worked at the Tarrytown assembly plant and he advised NOT to get those 2 options. He worked in the "fit and finish" area and told me they were having major problems getting those 2 things to work properly. He did tell me to make sure I odered the 3800 engine and the CD player with the steering wheel control. I absolutely love that option. I've had to replace the outer tie rods, had a seal replaced between the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe, had the timing cover gasket replaced and am doing the heater core this week. Other than those few items, my van has had no major problems whatsoever. It doesn't leak one drop of anything on my driveway. C. Smith daman 12-24-2003, 10:10 AM Oh yea, he didn't recomend the power door, I got that option and just love it no probs yet i got the cd player like i said but no steering cont. i have that on my bonnieville and love it, What color is yours, mine is that blue green kinda cool!! ciras3 12-24-2003, 06:12 PM Hi, Mine is the teal green with charcoal grey interior.
