there are only 1000 of those cars made, it's the fastest Z31 made and also is worth more then your standard Z31

Shiro Edition... I don't think it was necessarily the fastest z31. And I believe there were more than 1000 made. I see them pretty often...

I've never seen one and I thought 1984 was the only year they made any special edition Z's?

1984-Anniversary year of all 300zx, however, there were some Z's that were the AE (Anniversary Edition) these had ajustable shocks, body sonic amp, leather, digi dash, as well as other goodies.
Some dealers would sometimes put AE badges on non-AE cars, so check for all these things. (they also had a cool two-tone paint)

1988-Shiro Special, only 1000 made.
Came with VLSD, Recaro seats, analog dash, no options, white wheels, euro front air dam, t-tops, 5-spd...
These also weighed 200lbs less than other Z31's, so I guess you could say it was the fastest.
(205 hp on 3020lbs)

I have a shiro btw

1984 was the 50th anniversary of Nissan. That's where the anniversary part came from. The Z car started in 1970 so 1984 wouldn't really be a logical anniversary for the Z car. (I owned an AE)

Yeah I know what you are talking about the white on white Z, it was called the Recaro model, I believe their was about 2500, not sure about the fastest but the second gen 300ZX also had a speacial edition the Steve Millen Edition(Stillen), it is called the SMZ edition. It only came in twin turbo but when they were brand new they cost over $50,000 they had 380HP and the suspension was tuned a little bit and came with a note signed by Steve Millen.

2500 Shiros made? There were only 1000 made. I meant it was probably the fastest Z31 because of the lighter weight.

Any pics of the SMZ?
