330 ci or r33 ?bbb 11-28-2001, 06:38 PM ok...... i have a question. would u get a fully loaded new 01' 330ci or would u get a used 96' r33 gtr v-spec? the only reason i dout getting the r33 is because what if u get into an accident. dont u have to wait like 2 months for the parts to arrive from japan? and also about actually importing the car and last the insurence? the 330ci looks nice. im 16 years old and my parents are willing to spend about 40k for my first car. my brother has the 2001 audi a6 2.7t. so which one would u choose ? MattyG 11-28-2001, 06:43 PM Well the Skyline would be a beast, but being only 16 you would probably kill yourself in it. The 330ci looks cool, will have a warranty, and is no slouch, so I would take that if I were your position. And I can't beleive your parents are buying you a US $40K car when you are 16. Some folks out there must be so rich it makes me feel sorry for myself. :( bbb 11-28-2001, 08:46 PM because i have 6k saved up right now and if i get the 330ci then ima get a hamann wide body kit and i get the r33 then ima get the veilside r33-ce kit on it. they both look really nice after the kit is put on. gelpke 11-29-2001, 01:47 AM hey man if i were you and mom & dad were footing the bill i'd definetly go with the R-33. being stationed in germany i really didn't like the bmw's as much as say, audi tt. plus the bmw has really bad drain points so after you wash it you get a dripline in front of and behind the doors on both sides of the car. hope this helped. koh 11-29-2001, 02:04 AM i'm 16 and i have 10grand and my parents won't chip in for shit...i'm just thinking about a 240sx...and get a 95 r33, it's way cheaper than a 96...if not that get an audi s4 instead of the bimmer koh 11-29-2001, 02:05 AM actually i have 8.5grand :Di like rounding up tyhel 11-29-2001, 06:36 AM  geez your lucky. If i was i your position I would have put my R33 order in already and it would have taken my about 2 seconds to make that choice. Get it and send me a pic after you get the body pack on. Is it the one with the grey stripe on the hood and on the side saying "Veilside combat GT-R" thats the best one. Itll kick some anus if you know what I mean. And youll always be able to find your car and it could be the fastest thing in town. I envy you. super 96 accord 11-29-2001, 11:58 AM Have you ever seen an R33 up close in real life? Touched it, sat in it? If you haven't you can't make a decision until then. Where abouts do you live? If you're serious about getting one I could probably hook up a meeting so you could see one if you're in So Cal. bbb 11-29-2001, 09:51 PM i live in southern california. the city glendale. I visited motorex on thursday on tahnksgivin holiday but they said that they were preparin for a show and had the cars all parked close together. i saw and actually touched it if u would say at motorex. i saw a silver, blue and the yellow one in fast and furious. the yellow one didnt have a engine and i was wondering wtf.~! can sum1 tell me how to upload pics so i can show the car i want on the kit i want koh 11-30-2001, 12:15 AM hey wanna gimme a ride when you get it best buddy?:D:D:Dhahah bbb 11-30-2001, 12:45 AM ahhaahhaha sure....... R33 12-04-2001, 11:11 PM Hi bbb, you are one lucky kid for sure. When I was 16, I even had to save hard for my soccer boots! As people on this board know, I own a R33 GTR. It's big and heavy but rather easy to drive and maneuvour around town. On the track, it's a different kind of animal altogether. The Beamer don't even come close though I would think that it is more comfortable than the 33 GTR. If you go for the Beamer, buy an M3 - stock 33 GTR is less powerful than the M3. But hell, the GTR is not merely a car, it is a driving experience in itself. Drive it, get to know it and it's capabilities, slam the pedal and you would never think of another car save probably of a Diablo! My advice, go for a test drive in both cars. Than decide.....I think I already know which one you would buy after the drive!;) Jimster 12-06-2001, 06:38 PM I think the R-32 is the better GT-R performance wise. Where I live the 330Ci and GTR are in a totally different league from each-other. But I say get an R-32 GT-R USA Racer 12-07-2001, 02:09 AM I'm 16 also. And as much as I would like the GT-R it's an import. For real. What if you run into problems? Insurance? BTW, you got $10k more to spend than the HIGHEST my parents would spend on a car for me. lol Get a Corvette. It preforms better than both the 330 ci or the R33 GT-R. It's lighter and sexier too. And it's a Corvette. Meaning you have a galaxy of modifications you can do to it. But alas, you'll get killed if you got the Vette. The thing is like a spaceship in the strights and handles like a Ferrari-wanna be. That means you just think and your already in the apex of you street corner and when things get stright just about any car and just forget it when it comes to catching it. Same thing goes for the Skyline GT-R although from what I hear they eat trannys like nothing thanks to the incredible thrust you can get out of aftermarket turbos for it... lol Get an older E36 M3 and turbo it. :) PART 12-08-2001, 12:56 AM Ok i dont like u but thats mostly envy talking u would pretty much be like the only kid on the block with an R33 thats for sure but if u really have to ask my guess is u arent really into the car and just know that its good so if ur going for image save us all alot of heartache and get the Bmw and enjoy being one rich kid but if u really think u could take care of such an awesome automobile then more power to u just my thoughts later... blatch 12-08-2001, 01:21 AM bbb- check out the 3000gt. get the latest model! what am i saying... get the 330. bbb 12-13-2001, 11:38 PM ok.... i eliminated the 330ci from the list....my bro got an audi a6 2.7t...he luvs audi....he says that audi is going to put 4.2 liter V8 in the new S4. WTF !~!~!~ thats crazy...so imwondering now 96' R33 gtr or the 03' Audi S4 cvp0917 12-16-2001, 03:01 AM god i hate rich people. no offence to you but its the fact that your parents give you EVERYTHING. $40000 just because? what did you do to deserve that? i worked 5 months to save a $1000 downpayment on my car and i payed everything myself. guess theres really no use in me whining cause it wont do anything... Whitebread 12-24-2001, 12:20 PM I say get the skyline and go to a driving school. You will have a great car and the skills to drive it without killing yourself. fearless_simian 01-01-2002, 01:58 AM for 40k there are a lot of other cars you could consider. look at some of the other used imports. you could definately look at a very nice supra/rex/300zx just a thought. oh what i would give for that kind of car. It's a faster car and has a meaner appearance. I wouldn't worry about parts so much. There a lot of us over in Japan that can get parts for you, and cheaper than they charge in the states....The longest I can see them taking to get to you is about two weeks....but that would really be pushing it. You could get most stuff in seven days. The insurance is going to kill you more than anything. Having a grey market vehicle, known for its racing capability is going to be expensive. Outside of USAA (which is strictly military), I've been hearing it costs about 3g's a year to insure...but that was for Ken at Motorex....I never got a quote from Hiro. The tranny is actually one of the best parts of the GTR. I've dropped my clutch at 6000 RPM about fifteen times and I'm pushing close to 500 to the wheels....no problems yet. The WRX has horrible transmissions...in the past eight months I've been at the races I've seen three of them completely lose first gear.
