New member here and thanks in advance!
I’ve got a 1965 MBG roadster and I’m thinking of updating the suspension (I’m thinking safety first.) but I’m really not sure if it’s worth the time, money, trouble, and punching holes in my vintage ride. Car rides okay on smooth surface but front-end rattles when you hit the unavoidable rut in the road, especially on the corners. I’ve inspected steering and suspension and all seems to be tight. Car is 90% restored by previous owner and has been modified (Weber down draft, Headers, exhaust, and slotted front disc brakes). The rest of the car is original. I’m also experiencing overheating sitting in traffic but I’ll save that for another time.
Again Thanks
Cesar

I've had my questioned posted here for a few weeks with no response. Since then I have found my answers else were. I'm sticking to what I got because I don't feel right about punching holes in my car. I've also decided in restoring my MG back, or as close to it's original state.

California pothole patrol were are you!

Could you post a link to where you found the information in the end?
That way we might be able to help the next person who comes along.

I'm sure your fronk end just needs to be rebuilt. The king pins get sloppy and need new bushings etc... Fitting V8 bushings will help firm everything and last a lot longer then the original 2 piece rubber ones.

Check wheel bearing/hubs/tie rod ends/sway bar bushings and steering shart u-joint.

As for fiberglass leaf springs.. I have them on my 1980 V8 Conversion. It greatly improves the ride... I use tube shocks vs. the OE ones. I also have traction bars fitted to control spring wind up.

After fitting the stiffer ft shock valves, it's really a great riding car. Very smooth and comfortable.
