Look into the Viper 550S. It normally goes for $399.99 installed and its a full function alarm with remote start. You can do remote start only with an automatic transmission. If you have the Nissan coded key feature you will have to get the DEI 555U universal by-pass module so you can remotely start your vehicle without the key being in the ignition. Hope this helps. Yeah, I 2nd the DEI Viper stuff but I would pick the new 791XV with the 2-way remote. Or, if you do not want security, you can get the 160xv. They have 2x the range and work awesome. My customers love them. Heck, DEI didn't become the industry leader by accident! http://directed.com/security/viper/viper_responder.asp ikoiko79 10-27-2003, 07:08 PM I sell remote starts/alarms where I work. I have not put one in the truck yet ( I just bought it 2 months ago) but I will be installing an audiovox APS-996. Thos and the Viper 550ESP are the best quality and longest ranges. Most other, like the crime stopper, aren't so hot HangGlider 11-25-2003, 07:10 PM I live in Buffalo, NY and it's getting cold around here. It would be nice to get my remote starter installed! I am down to one wire that I need to identify before I install it. The instructions indicate that I should locate the vehicles ECM tach input OR the negative side of the ignition coil. According to the Service Manual, terminal 3 on the ECM (Pink/Blue wire) goes to the Unified Meter Control Unit for the tachometer reference. This is one possibility, but I am not sure if that is the correct wire. It would be easier if I could use a connection off of the ECM so that I don't have to go through the firewall. Anyone have an opinion on this or for that matter, experience with locating the tach reference wire? PS...it is snowing. ponchonutty 11-25-2003, 11:23 PM I live in Buffalo, NY and it's getting cold around here. It would be nice to get my remote starter installed! I try to go to the ECM since it's inside of the cabin. That way you do not have to go out into the engine bay. The ECM is located below the heater box to the right of the accelerator pedal, behind the trim panel. The tach is in the top row, 3rd pin left of center of the plug. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
