Clunking noise from 92 Lumina JohnnyNapalm 08-09-2003, 05:59 PM
My 1992 Lumina Euro is making a loud clunking noise in the back right tire when I go over large bumps in the road. Most of the people I have talked to thinks it's a wheel bearing problem, but some doubt that. If I grab the wheel by the sides and rock it back and forth, the sound is generated...if I do this on any other wheel, it does not. Car milage is 63000. Any help will be appreciated. TorinoGT69 08-09-2003, 07:12 PM Does the wheel actually move when you rock it? If it does then it is the bearing assembly. JohnnyNapalm 08-09-2003, 07:23 PM yes it has some give and play in it...where the other wheels do not. this wheel is abs, how hard is it to replace the bearings? TorinoGT69 08-09-2003, 07:25 PM Its been about a year since I last worked on one of those so I do not remember the specifics but i do not remember it being very difficult. JohnnyNapalm 08-09-2003, 07:28 PM if it's not the bearing, any clue as to what it could be? Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
