need advice about my Bro's '90 L V6....Longe237series 08-09-2003, 04:53 PM Ok, well the other night he got sideswiped by a 3000GT doin 70+ in a 35 zone. If anyone is interested in the story i can post it, kinda funny actually. But for now, the car is a '90 Legend L V6 Sedan 5spd. He bought it a year ago with 275k miles on it, but it was basically all highway and had all the records since it was new in the glove box. So it was well taken care of and ran pretty good. Now its totalled though, the rear wheel well toward the front is folded over top of the back door, the whole side is beaten in pretty bad, and the right front wheel was pushed forward and bent the suspension some. the right halfshaft ripped the oil filter off almost, so it lost almost all its oil and was driven a block or so like that. We did get another filter on and more oil in and all we hear is the valve tap it had b4 so the engine may be ok for now. the thing is i know its totaled, but with some minor suspension work its easily drivable i would think. anyways the interior on it is almost like new, cept for the hole we cut in the top of each door panel for some boston tweets. everything works as far as we know cept the antanna, oh and the abs light was constantly on. Two of the wheels are in OK used condition not batterd, but faded slightly. the tail lights are about perfect, the headlights have highway wear on them. they missed the mirror so those are both good. Just curious if its worth the time to part this car out?? if anyone may be interested in it i dunno. the dumb@$$ had no insurance so we are kinda screwed, maybe someone could give me a ballpark figure of what i could get for parting it out. Sorry for the long post, thanx for reading Later Jon BloodRiot 11-19-2003, 11:14 PM My only suggestion is that you take everything that is useful apart and sell them on Ebay or something, a friend of mine did that, he wrecked his car, but most parts where good, like windows, switches, radiator, etc. and he sold almost every item on Ebay, then towed the rest of the car to the junk yard. e237series 11-20-2003, 11:46 AM My parents decided they were moving, so my dad sold the whole car for $200 Damn, thats way too cheap, too many good parts on it. Oh well, his perogative i guess. He basically bought it from my bro, cause he paid for 75% of the new car.
